How do I get those big huge dried buds?

Hello there people -

I am not much into the cannabis thing here but I wanna point something out of my concern here..

I had grown a few plants, and everytime I tear off a leaf or a bunch of leaves I usually take them out in the sun to let them dry on a paper plate (Not crushed up though)...Just like that...

Now my question is, Everytime I get weed, the bud is very bulky and never falls apart when I handle it...Its so well packed and bulky...

How do real plant growers dry there leaves so they dont fall apart AND how do they prevent it from curling up and being all crumbly??

Am I just picky the buds too early or something? I dont know...But the leaves do not become as bulky as when I get the weed from my hookup...

Was I drying it the wrong way or something?
 
i'd forward you to overgrow.com if it was up right now. this is an interesting post, it sounds to me like you dry your leaves and mash them into bud shapes, which is far from how weed is produced. I have to say i'm pretty confused about this question...

These two things don't add up. You know why? In the first quote you're talking about leaves, in the second you're talking about buds. Kinda answers your whole question. You're picking the wrong stuff.

You will start to notice when your plants begin to flower. In the meantime, check out these couple of links to get a bit more familiar with growing:

ah, the discussion you link to is interesting, but the news article linked in there is referencing to an arrest on febuary 2nd. if my memory holds overgrow was down on monday, jan 30. the arrest there doesnt quite add up
 
this is funny. reminds me of when i was younger, a bunch of us butchered my neighbors plants over the summer. i remember wondering why my handful of leaves wouldnt dry out looking like a bud... i dont think wrapping it in tin foil helped though:).

lol pull a leaf and *poof* a bud appears, now how do we dry this bud again? And why do my leaves not look like the bud Im buying from my dealer? Oh damn
