How did you get off your butt today V.2

Yoga

Standing + first 5 poses of Primary + Finishing

Toughest practice ever. Physically it was challenging, sure -- when isn't it? But it's really all about the mental. I did my best to take it one pose at a time, stay with my breath, and allow muscle memory to get me through the postures. The toughest practices are the best. "Are you prepared to be great today?" is what I kept asking myself to get through the practice.

Stress is slowly building. I think the rhodiola is helping, but it's very subtle. I'll know more in a couple of weeks.

Might play basketball with a friend today. Maybe my body needs a rest. Or maybe this is the pain period and there's light at the end of the tunnel. I'm eating a ton and eating like a champ, so for now I'm just going to power through.

All I can say is you are AMAZING! I'm going to do 300 crunches and some squats before I start packing up again for my trip. I know I shouldn't even be on bluelight but I just cant help it! Lol

Today: Yoga, same routine as yesterday. Huge difference! Took me up until Utkatasana to really start feeling limber, but I was much more focused and driven today.

Tomorrow I'll likely add four more poses from Primary.

I am continually impressed by how well-designed everything is. The Sun Salutations are the perfect warm-up: challenging full-body movements as well as preparing your mind for the focus the practice demands. B is certain to get your body sweating!

Then the Standing Sequence is easily the most physically demanding part of the practice, especially when you go from Utthita & Parivritta Parsvakonasana --> Prasaritas A-D --> Parsvakonasana --> Balancing Poses --> Warrior Poses.

That's the sickest, most intense series of poses and will challenge the hell out of anyone, regardless of fitness level.

But after that? You are dripping with sweat, intensely focused, and ready to conquer anything!

My friend taught me a bunch of yoga poses and we stretched in her home yesterday before going for a long walk in the woods.

Yoga. Added 4 more poses from Primary Series.

Went running yesterday afternoon. It was pretty hot (>90). Ran a mile at ~90% maximum speed.

Today I get my bike back! Have many errands to run, so I expect to put >15 miles on it. And I'll likely run today, too. Had the thought yesterday of adding a little variety and running long-distance (probably 1.5 miles to start, which, since I'm only getting back into running, is long-distance for me) at a slower pace 1x a week. But I don't want to get ahead of myself; maybe I'll just run another mile.

Bench
Skull crushers
Incline dumbbell press
Tricep pull down
Cable chest press
Cable flys
Dips
4 miles on the treadmill at varying grades

I managed to go workout even on my vacation lol! I just finished 40 min of cardio and doing crunches atm. 200 more to go

Nice, did you go anywhere or just enjoying time off at home?

I got back on the horse/wagon today after some inactivity:

situps
pushups
delt raise superset
curls
squats
dips

Good job!!! Hehe I'm in vegas!!! I'm gonna be doing a lot of wAlking in a few minutes so I think I should add this one as part of exercising.

Yoga

Mentally not into it at all (I keep fucking waking up in the middle of the night, randomly losing 1-2 hours of sleep) but I think the rhodiola is helping.

Biking / running this afternoon/evening

I just ate breakfast so I'm waiting for the food to digest :D What I have in line are:

Cardio
crunches
Squats
Lunges
Weights

ooo sin city, the healthy living graveyard :p

I walked 5k earlier to get groceries and then went for a half hour run... in 80% humidity. Time for shower #3 of the day... wheeee...

Yoga: Ashtanga: Primary Series.

Added Marichyasana A & B. Double-checking through David Swenson's manual, as I periodically do, I realized I forgot Ardha Baddha. I had a feeling I was forgetting a pose... So I added three poses today.

All those vinyasas in between every Primary Series pose -- every side of each pose, since you do L and R -- gets tiring. Dat endurance. Mental and physical endurance.

But this is actually the farthest in the Primary Series I've done as a personal practice. Took about 80 minutes today. In all it'll probably take me two hours or slightly less. You get slightly faster as you and your body becomes more familiar with getting in/out of each pose, but the great thing about personal practice vs studio practice is that I can take all the time I want.

The brake on my bike broke again, which pisses me off considering I just got it fixed 10 days ago. So probably little to no biking today. Didn't run yesterday but biked ~10 miles. Will run today. And more yoga + a hike tomorrow. Weee!

it is haha but hey I'm doing great so far, I haven't over eaten lotsa walking is much better than sitting in the office for 8 hours :D

I went to the gym again: 40 min cardio and some crunches ;)

Last night I did about 30 minutes of stretching and then went for a long walk. I'm really enjoying yoga a lot lately after getting back into it again. My body feels so free and well-circulated with the stretching.

My routine now is weightlifting 1-2 times a week (mostly for upper body), deep stretching, and hiking in the woods. I feel great!
