How an overdose happens?

My question relates to the relationship of an OD to duration. an overdose can happen by doing to much at once, or doing an amount of something, then doing some more like like an hour later, and the doses piled on top of eachother are too much combined and you OD.

So my DOC is IV oxycodone. i used .2 micron filters, sterile supplies, and i never used my insulin needles more than 2 times. The duration of oxycodone taken orally is 4-6 hours. theres not much info on the duration of IV oxy, but im sure its maybe 2-4 hours cuz IV duration is always less. so lets just be safe and say the IV duration of oxy is 4 hours. does that mean if i wait around 5 hours to do my next shot, that im not risking an OD from compounding multiple doses, and that im basically injecting with a clean slate? i mean like when the duration time is up, does that mean that drug is no longer acting in your system in a way that can contribute to an overdose?

Example, say 120mg IV oxy at once would cause me to OD. if i did 60mg and waited over 4 hours til the duration time was up, and then did i another 60mg, would that first 60mg still be in my system having effects that could mix with the other 60mg to cause an overdose, or since i had waited out the duration time, would the second 60mg that i did be on a clean slate and no contribute towards an OD? obviously the drug is still in my system, but are the effects that can cause an overdose gone once the 4-6 hour duration is up?

Ok i guess ill do another and find out.... jk lol not really funny though. i love BL but it just seems like sometimes my really relevant and important harm reduction posts are the ones that never get answered

Stop bumping your own post.

If you wait for 4 hours you are good to go. Hospitals that give you an I.V. of oxycodone will do the same.

Just listen to your body and you will know the best time. When the high is gone and you can breath perfectly normal again, which should be about 4.5 hours, you are good and ready for another dose.
