Found a tongue-in-cheek article detailing the highest BACs recorded in the United States:

Supposedly the world record holder though goes to a Bulgarian man by the name of Pyotyr Petrov who hit by a car while trying to cross a street. When he was taken to a hospital for his injuries, the hospital tested his BAC multiple ways because they couldn't believe that anyone could survive a .97 BAC. Not only that he was CONSCIOUS and was apparently able to communicate with doctors. He had consumed two liters of vodka that day.

My own personal best was an ER visit with .55.

I think my highest *recorded* one was a .40 when I woke up in the ER with a concussion after having hit my head and subsequently passed out on LSD (which I took a second day in a row, so it had no effect on me) and some whisky. Apart from smashing my head, I came to pretty quickly and walked out of the hospital pretty much sober. *facepalm*. I've actually been thinking about investing in a device to measure by BAC when drinking, because I believe some interesting results could be taken.

Also, I remember reading Wiki some time ago about this topic and there were >1.00 recorded measurements.

According to that first article I posted there was a guy in Poland who died in a car accident and it turned out his BAC was 1.48. He worked at a chemical plant and was beer bonging grain alcohol that he stole from his workplace.
