I've been on Suboxone for over two years now. When I first started using Suboxone it was to get off opiates. Before, I started using Suboxone I was talking Loratabs for pain management. I had an accident when I was 23. I fell real hard on my right knee. I fracture my right knee cap and busted open my knee. It took over 240 stitches to close up the wound. For several years my right knee didn't give me to many problems. But around 2004 I started having severe pain in my right knee. Since, that time I've had 3 surgeries done on my knee. Anyway, I had to take pain medication to deal with the pain. I finally just got feed up and decided I needed to come off the Loratabs. By April of 2010 I had gone from taking 3 8mg/2mg Suboxone a day to 2 2mg/0.5 a day. Then suddenly my knee started giving out. I was having so much pain almost more then I could bare. My doctor sent me to have an MRI done on my knee. When, I went back to the doctor to find out the results of my MRI my doctor basically said I was screwed(he didn't say that literally). That same day he put me back up to 3 8mg/2mg Suboxone a day. He said it would help with the pain. He sent me to an orthopedic surgeon. When he read the MRI and saw the x-rays of my knee he said that I needed a knee replacement but I was to young to get one. He said if I was 75 years old he would do one immediately. Because a knee replacement only last about 10 years. Basically, my only option was to continue taking the Suboxone for the pain. I didn't know Suboxone could be used to treat pain but my doctor and the orthopedic said that it does help with pain. So, I went from taking Suboxone to get off opiates to taking it for pain. Since, I was already on Suboxone it was decided that instead of trying to put me on a new medication for pain that it would be easier to keep me on it. Anyway, I lost my insurance in August 2010. I couldn't afford to pay for the Suboxone. I went online and found out that the makers of Subxone had a program called "Here to Help" program. If approved it would pay for my entire perscription. I received the application on 8/16/2010. I went and saw my doctor on 8/18/2010 and he filled out the form. That same day I faxed in the application and a copy of my most recent Social Security Statement.( the one you get every year before your bithday). With in 2 hours of faxing the papers in I was approved. My case coordinator gave me all the information I needed to go ahead and get my script filled that day. I received a card in the mail a few days later. Anyway, the "Here to Help" program only pays for your Suboxone for a year. My year ended 8/18/2011. Now, I don't know what to do. I can't afford to pay for entire month of months worth.
Now, what I need to know is if anybody knows anywhere else I can get help paying for my Suboxone. The Suboxone really helps me. I like it because it doesn't give you an euphoric feeling. I don't crave other opiates because of the Suboxone. I'm also scared that if I have to go cold turkey because I can't afford it that I will go into severe withdrawl. I know some people and doctors say that it's not as hard to come off Suboxone as other opiates but I know different. I had to go 2 1/2 weeks without it one time and I was in severe withdrawl mode. I couldn't eat, sleep or do anything. I even tried taking some Loratabs after the first week and half of not having any Suboxone and they didn't even help one bit. Finally, after the 2 1/2 weeks I got my Subxone. Within a hour of taking one 8mg/2mg I felt better and all the withdrawl symptoms went away. I'm so worried that I'll have to go through that again. You would think that after 2 1/2 weeks that the withdrawl effects would have gotten better but it didn't. It got worse.
I would appreciate any feedbacks from anybody who knows any other programs that will help me pay for the Suboxone.

Sorry, this post is long but I tend to always over explain myself.

This is on a very fine line between sourcing and finding legit help. Either way, we're not here to help you find drugs or a doctor, Google, on the other hand, is the way to go.

I'm going to close this thread.
