Being a writer, my job is a lonely one. Oh, I get to interview SMEs (subject matter experts) and work with graphic designer and printers and other people in the communication trade, but ultimately, it's me alone in my home office looking at the screen. Well, not alone, actually. Not by a long shot, in fact. Always in the same room as me, and happy as long as I am in viewing range, is my 10-pound Brussels Griffon, Fred. He goes a long way toward helping me cope with isolation. And there's my partner of 27 years Celso, who comes home from his job late, around 8:30 p.m. We're happy together but together less than half the time. Celso works all Saturdays and some Sundays.
Another thing that keeps me from being too lonely is my presence on a few, carefully-chosen, non-flaky boards like Bluelight. I share many members' enjoyment of getting high. And I'm fortunate (?) enough to be sufficiently bi-polar and ADHD to warrant being prescribed Vyvanse and Dexedrine (now supplanted by Adderall). I was taking heavy duty antidepressants too, but an interesting thing happened after my annual physical. My doc found my hormones (T4, testosterone) were messed up and sent me to an endocrinologist. He prescribed supplementary hormones (synthroid and testosterone gel) and my mood stabilized. No more antidepressants. Fellow boomer-aged Bluelighters, take note!
I hope to learn much from you Bluelighters, mainly in the area of being productively high, responsibly high, and just plain high. Probably I'll not post frequently. From a quick scan, most of my questions seem to be answered already. And, the knowledge of those Bluelighters schooled in chemistry and psychology is light years ahead of any opinion in those areas that I could come up with. But I am a writer, so you'll be hearing from me.
