Hey All,

So i previously tried following Tricomb's detox using only 1 8mg Suboxone. I was too unfomfortable and I used while attempting to detox. So here is the current situation I am trying to detox from a 1 gram a day snorted heroin habit. I have 2 8mg Suboxone's and I can't get anymore. I was wondering if someone could help me figure out a good taper schedule to make this as painless as possible. I know that detoxing is the easy part and staying clean after is the hard part that is why I will be starting rehab next week and have already started attending NA meetings regularly with my family.

Thanks

There are already a lot of threads on this. I would start off taking as little Suboxone as possible in order to make your withdrawals just bearable and gradually taper down from there. The precise schedule and dosages will depend on how much you need when you start the Suboxone.

Like if you start out with 2mg, you could do something like:
Day 1-2 - 2mg
Day 3-5 - 1.5mg
Day 6-7 - 1.25mg
Day 8-9 - 1mg
Day 10-11 - 0.75mg
Day 12-13 - 0.5mg
Day 14-15 - 0.25mg
Day 16 - 0mg
Day 17 - 0.25mg
Day 18 - 0mg

not trying to discourage you but i didnt even feel any withdrawl like symptoms until i picked up the needle. cant help you much, but i do know that the psychological addiction is something that needs to be conquered before you can take care of the physical part.

I don't know if the mental aspects need to be taken care of before the physical, but definitely at least at the same time and afterwards. The mental addiction is much harder than the physical dependence and it is very important to work on that, make major life changes, go to counseling/therapy, groups/meetings, read self-help books, work on the reasons you were using in the first place, etc.
