Social Justice Here we go again: Killing of Rayshard Brooks by Atlanta police

The establishment are attacking the police?

The police ARE the establishment.

And only a minority of crazy fanatics want the police entirely abolished. The rest of us just want them to obey the laws they're charged with enforcing.

Jesus look at these protests. Allowing the police to keep pulling this shit is itself something that risks a social breakdown. Not reforming it.

But that's the standard fanatic psychology. It's either the police can do anything they like, or must be abolished, with no in between.

This is why I follow the horseshoe theory. That the fanatic left and fanatic right are more like each other than either are like moderates.

The cop who shot Brooks will be charged with felony murder + 10 more charges, according to DA.

Now this is ridiculous.
The establishment is attacking the police.
This type of shit will lead to the breakdown of the society where criminals will run the show and you all will be fucked. I hope the people in the US have armed themselves, because soon there might be nobody coming to save them.

dEeP sTaTe!1!

The system is working man. This is evidence BLM and all the protests were worth it. That murderer is going to get his day in court, and he is going to have to answer for his crimes.

This is evidence you have no idea what you're talking about. This is the beginning of the end

Just got this email from an Atlanta police officer:

"Atlanta police officers are refusing to answer the radio and walking off of the job. The county can go screw themselves. If you want a society without police we’ll give you one. Let it burn!"

The cop was charged with 1st degree murder and the death penalty is on the table but most likely he will plead to 2nd degree murder get 15 years and serve only like 5-7 years

This is evidence you have no idea what you're talking about. This is the beginning of the end

rofl.

It's the beginning of the end! The sky is falling! How can we have law and order if the police can't shoot anyone they like!

I saw let the cops walk off the job. Then we can hire better cops.

Anyone else notice that ever since these massive protests, suddenly cops are being charged with serious crimes for their behavior?

But nooo, protesting is pointless, the system can't be changed! Blah blah

This is evidence you have no idea what you're talking about. This is the beginning of the end

Again, this is evidence you're clueless. They will have contingency plans, let them walk off - yet I doubt it will even get to that point. More than likely that wasn't even written by a real police officer lol.

The police ARE the establishment.
Wrong. The police are pawns to enforce agendas.
They are also a potential obstacle against obvious tyranny.
So now removing the police will cause chaos which will cause desperation and the people will demand the government intervene to save them.

Jesus look at these protests. Allowing the police to keep pulling this shit is itself something that risks a social breakdown. Not reforming it.

The protests are based on lies and they were not organic. Soros has donated $30 million to BLM. His modus operandi around the world is the same. Destabilize societies and implement color revolutions. If you think Soros is a philanthropist the cares about the plight of black people then I've got a bridge to sell you.

Again, this is evidence you're clueless. They will have contingency plans, let them walk off - yet I doubt it will even get to that point. More than likely that wasn't even written by a real police officer lol.
We'll be seeing who the clueless people are very soon.

I want police reform just as much as you all do. But you haven't the faintest idea of how to do that successfully and instead you get spellbound by the rhetoric of these nefarious agendas.
Unfortunately a lot more innocent people will suffer before you've realized how misguided you've been.

I think I get why there's this anti-cop sentiment around here - it's a drug forum and drug users just want to purchase/sell drugs without being in fear, arrested, jailed etc (I am for full legalization).
But what do you think is going to happen when there's no police? When criminals and gangsters work out that they can do whatever they want?
Everyone is completely fucked. I thought this would be obvious but alas:

we will reform the police and stop having this nonsense. What you just suggested will never happen, there are alternatives that will happen well before that.
Oh really? When? How?
Do you have any ideas or have you heard any detailed explanations?

Don't Democrat cities already have some control over the police? Why didn't they reform them so far?
What's the difference between the police which they had control over - and some new police force that they will also control?
The only difference is the suspected chaos that will happen in between - and that might be the variable for people to acquiesce to an even tighter clampdown of their rights and freedoms.

It seems like many leftists/liberals live in a world where violent criminals don't exist - or these people have almost been brainwashed to empathize with psychopaths..

NOBODY here has advocated that the police be disbanded. So I'd thank you to stop pretending that we are.

It is not a requirement of having a police force that the police force be corrupt lawless thugs.

Nothing I've seen anyone advocate for here would make the cops jobs impossible.

That you think the police can't function if they can't shoot fleeing suspect's and execute people speaks volumes.

I think I get why there's this anti-cop sentiment around here - it's a drug forum and drug users just want to purchase/sell drugs without being in fear, arrested, jailed etc (I am for full legalization).

What I don't understand is why there's anybody on a drugs forum that thinks it's perfectly fine for cops to just kill people whenever they feel like it even if they're in no serious danger.

I don't understand why there's anyone on a drugs forum that thinks that because someone has a criminal record they suddenly have no rights.

All I can say to explain it is that some people are just hypocrites.

Here's how we do it.

First, we start prosecuting all police who break the law to the fullest possible extent.

We change the internal policies and training practices to better emphasize when force is permitted and to what degree, and continue refreshing it throughout their career. We show them the incidents that have happened in the past and the consequences for the officer involved and exactly how they should have handled it differently.

We start dismissing cops that show a propensity towards unjustified violence early in there career.

We create a separate agency, not operated by the police, who's sole job it is to police the police. No more ability for the cops to cover it up unilaterally.

But lemme guess, policing would be impossible then. :/

"Earlier suggestions that multiple officers from each zone had walked off the job were inaccurate. However, department is experiencing a higher than usual number of call outs with the incoming shift. We have enough resources to maintain operations and remain able to respond to incidents throughout the city."

Like I said, let them walk out, and stop being so paranoid that the world is going to end to justify letting bad police officers keep doing and things because you're scared.

The bad cops will piss and moan and cry and threaten, tough shit, let them.

They will have to learn how to do their job correctly and be accountable for their actions, cry me a river, how is that even debatable?

Yes police cannot overstep their bounds but they also cannot always treat violent criminals with kid gloves.

The rest I agree with and I'll add I want all cops to go through a PCL-R first (that will prevent many problems from even arising later).

That you think the police can't function if they can't shoot fleeing suspect's and execute people speaks volumes.
This is so incredibly disingenuous. "Fleeing suspect" is different than firing a weapon at an officer and forcing that officer to potentially fear for his life/safety and to make a split-second decision.

What I don't understand is why there's anybody on a drugs forum that thinks it's perfectly fine for cops to just kill people whenever they feel like it even if they're in no serious danger..
If you're referring to me then again I'm going to call you willfully disingenuous to the point of insulting (because I know you're not that unintelligent).
It's apparent you have zero understanding of policework or street combat in general.

NOBODY here has advocated that the police be disbanded. So I'd thank you to stop pretending that we are.

That's basically what he's calling for.
It's such a childish mentality.

Like I said, let them walk out, and stop being so paranoid that the world is going to end to justify letting bad police officers keep doing and things because you're scared.
I'm scared for others. The innocent, defenseless, vulnerable. You know the people that you claim to be caring for? But in reality you actually care more for violent criminals?

Do you purposely not understand or what? I think they should be reformed. If a bunch of shit cops want to piss and moan and cry, let them walk off. How many more times you going to try to recharacterize my posts?

You're paranoid, plain and simple. You worry if we don't bend and cater to bad police, then they have the power to hurt you and others by not doing their job. That's what they hope for, ignorant scared and paranoid people to believe what you do. It won't work. Like I said, let them cry and threaten.

They're not all shit cops. You're making wild assumptions because you're biased and propagandized. Good people are going to walk off because they're not allowed to do their jobs.
If cops are now put into positions where they are risking their lives further and they know that nobody has their back, well they're gonna say fuck that.
And I highly doubt people like you are going to step up.

They're not all shit cops

Bro, learn how to read. Where did I say they are all shit cops? I said let the shit cops cry and threaten - as in they don't even make up the majority - so who cares? I literally just posted an article and quote reinforcing that, it's only the bad cops who will have an issue with this. The majority good cops will continue on, so your fear of the whole police department walking out is never going to happen, so stop worrying the world is going to end.

it's only the bad cop8s who will have an issue with this.
I think you're wrong about this.
I just don't have this belief that any government or political party wants to radically change everything for the good.
Call me a pessimist, I'll say realist.
And I can see the writing on the wall.

Well, to a point you're probably right. No one is going to want to change. But I think the majority will understand and suck it up, hopefully understand it's for the best. My guess, is the good cops, secretly despise some of this shit cops to begin with. My point is, the good cops and the majority is more than likely not going to walk off the job because of this officer's actions and being held accountable for them. They didn't shoot up a Wendy's parking lot, so why should they?
