Hep C-symptoms + waiting for treatment

Hi, so I've had Hep C for 7+ years and things have gotten much worse the past 2-3 months. I am on methadone still but nothing else, and I have extremely bad cold sweats that pass when something passes in my stomach, and constant stomach pain/IBS issues...the worst part is the cold sweats that get worse with any physical activity. So I'm waiting to see a specialist now, and my main question is - how long can this process take? I got bloodwork and an ultrasound 2 weeks ago, and my primary doc confirmed that I'll be able to get treatment, but supposedly the specialist is doing something with the ultrasound results before scheduling an appointment....ive tried to search this and haven't found any answer to how long this process could take? Ant info is appreciated. That and if anyone else has experienced the extreme cold sweats thing too. Thanks.

That's a long time! I dunno about the U.S. but we have a cure here. I had Hep C and they said from the amount in my system I'd had it about 18 months. They put me on a three-month course of this medication and afterward I was completely cured. There was literally zero of it in me.
I was asymptomatic.

Yea I let it go too far, I didn't realize that my stomach issues were nor just from kicking benzos, but from Hep C, or that and something else, I'm hoping the specialist can look into the rest of my ultrasound too not just the liver. I just dunno how long I'll have to wait for these ultrasound readings, or if there's a wait to be seen after that... the doc can't even tell me what specialist im waiting for or where they're gonna be located...

Ohh. I didn't need a specialist. I was at the hepatologist anyway, doing tests to see how my liver was doing now that I was tapering off alcohol and to get blood test results. They diagnosed me with it and started me on the medications that day. The NHS is awesome :D

Started back on Coke in October 2017 as it is only drug that doesnt block me up I very rarely take pain killers as i want to know where pain is but last 2 years have been hard with pain.
Other main reason i am still alive is Sugar Free for 4 years from 2012. First cancer op jan 2013.

I'm hoping to get a call any day now, I know the specialist thing is in the works because I called yesterday, I just hope when I see them there's no more hoops to jump through, and I can get prescribed these meds the day I'm seen by them...

Mate I was 4000klms away and booked an online appointment.
Obviously better if you send them details first but they are so professional and the forum answers so many questions and the Doc even chimes in and also gives updates on what is available etc.
So many people from all over the world access meds through him legally as it is a listed world study.
Example on cost is that a course in USA without med insurance which heaps were getting knocked back on was $1000 usd per tablet or per day my memory is sus.
Well worth a second opinion mate as I have been Butchered.
