On the ground:
this feeling comes and goes, its been happening for the last few hours since i woke up from a nap last night, and i want to figure out what it is before i go back to my college classes.

its not a panic attack, because i can breath fine, and my heartbeat is normal but maybe not as strong as it usually is, there is a little anxiety there of course because it just doesn't feel right.

symptoms last from about 30 seconds too a only about 5 minutes at most:
weakness,
partial loss of balance/equilibrium,
strong to moderate feeling of derealization/depersonalization,
dilation of pupils at initial beginning of phase of symptoms (that i've noticed),
and sweating profusely during the episodes (probably from the anxiety)

and stimuli gets a bit overwhelming, not sure yet about that though.

besides that I've had a bit of flu like symptoms besides what happens in the episodes.
because i've abused drugs in the past and not very often in the present:

the only substance i took in the last week was dxm (lame, i know), doubt that has anything to do with it though, might have had some sort of psychotic break though, if that's the case i'll just have to take responsibility for it.

^ well the flu is barely that bad, i've been sick a lot lately but its usually just a few sneezes and runny nose, probably allergies.
but this feeling is new, i guess i can describe it as being stuck in a unfamiliar body almost..
or that it feels kind of new, just trapped in this body.

Have you taken your temperature? How old are you? Likely your just sick with the flu. If flu symptoms get bizarre to you, see a Doctor. People under 19 can get Reyes syndrome with a flu. Guillain–Barré syndrome can come out of a flu. Meningitis has occasional outbreaks among college populations, if it happens that you are ever sick with a bad headache and a stiff neck you should actually go to an ER to rule out meningitis. I'm saying these possibilities because we can not really ascertain that everything is OK over the internet, just give speculation. Get well soon.

my tempature is pretty warm, ill do an actual taking soon, since i havent so far.
i just turned 20 last month, so im probably not out of the clear too anything like that.

Your blood pressure could just be low. That happens to me on a daily basis.

maybe, i was using dxm for the last two months or so, so my blood pressure is probably whack right now.

like i said, i'm trying to figure out right now how i can get to a doctor without insurance; probably gonna have to go to an e.r..

when i was trying to sleep last night there were two episodes where i felt like if i didn't move as quickly as i could i would become paralyzed or maybe die or something, not fun.

i was gonna say drugs being burnt off from stored fat but that wouldnt last as long .
As far as menengitous i highly doubt it ive had it and you would be in bed feeling like yer dying from bad flue symptoms and extreme pain wanting to just die already.
But it is obviously good advise to go to a doc or er if you continue to not feel well...

I'm still betting on panic attack. For logical people who are more experienced with their bodies they can present like this (i.e. for me) without a huge panicked freak out. I get them occasionally and they are a lot like you just described. It feels like a rush of disassociation and I think my pulse has gone up but by checking it hasn't. I used to have to ride them out by resisting the urge to move which just gives in to them, but now I can just focus on it and force it away by trying to enjoy it (hard to explain). The only thing that doesn't jive is the loss of balance but I think it could just be misrepresented out of body feeling.

That's a panic attack.

This is the fight or flight adrenaline response and the thoughts of death which are EXACTLY what you expect in an attack. Perfect description of what I used to feel before I mind over mattered it. Also for me they didn't start until half way through first year uni.

edit: it can't hurt to got to the doctor to rule out low BP, low blood sugar/electrolytes/iron, and of course they would give you an ECG as well to check the electrical signals in your heart. What you've had doesn't sound like an arrhythmia at all (pulse is steady and no chest pain) but it would be the only real concern. If after reading this you suddenly think it might be your heart the next time it happens that is even better confirmation of an anxiety attack.

^ hm, then it must be a panic attack caused by this.
i've had them before but this just doesn't feel like one.

a normal panic attack would be shortness of breath and rapid heartbeat?
i haven't experienced those symptoms, which leads me to think its something else, but whatever these symptoms are definably are leading to some sort of panic attack.
but i'm just not as informed on panic attacks as i should be.

and the loss of balance is due to the dissociation, at least i'm pretty sure, i didn't mention that colors get very vivid in the episodes, and familiar things look very different. it could be some sort of psychedelic flashback.

like i said there's no worry over my pulse, there was a time where i worried over that, but "mind over mattered" it.
there was chest pain last night but i just thought back to when i worried over it and got over it in a matter of minutes.

anyway thanks to all of you for the advice. :)
ill be going to the doctor later today, it will only cost twenty dollars, so that's pretty good.

if anyone's interested here's an update: i got prescribed an anti-anxiety sleep aid, hm..

DXM could def lower your blood pressure drastically like that. And low blood pressure can make you feel fuckin crazy, like you're disassociated and dizzy. Try salting your food a little or eating more frequently. That usually helps me. If you can do this, you can go check your blood pressure for free at any drugstore, walmart, or grocery store. They will have a machine right by the pharmacy.

Good to hear it was all in you head...I guess. Anyways now that you know what it is hopefully it'll be no more than an occasional minor bother. Put it out of your mind and if it happens, as I said before, my trick is trying to enjoy it like a rush or completely focus on it which makes it stop almost right away.

Good Luck!

yeah :)
i put myself in a deep trance to think it over, i noticed it kinda feels like when i'm sending a relaxing feeling throughout my body. i'm guessing the bewilderment of this new stage of vivid consciousness scared me at first.

anyway i didn't mention the name of what i got prescribed, its hydroxyzine, of course i've never heard of it, don't really feel like i need to take it.

Thename for that phenomenon is jamais vu. Its something that isn't usually diagnostically significant unless its happening all the time. Its related to deja vu, feelings of presences, and the like. When I've experienced it it was usual accompanied by color intensity changes or spatial perception being off in a weird way. As you said all that kind of stuff is likely just residual from tripping.

Hydroxine is a pretty useful antihistamine. I find it to be almost a knock out sedative but I think that varies a lot from person to person.
