Sorry if this is on the wrong place. My doctor prescribed me clonazepam after I suggested we could try it as they did on this paper: http://biopsychiatry.com/clonazlsd.htm

But I gave off because I read so people saying clonazepam stops working for HPPD when you stop taking it, while that study said the relief lasted for 6 months after discontinuation. So I realized I really didn't know what I was doing and, afraid of withdrawals and side effects (mainly cognitive impairment) I stopped on day 5, when my dose was 1.25mg. I could feel a little relief, though, but not enough to say it was not placebo. So I don't know yet if clonazepam can or can't help me.

But I had an idea. Perhaps I could try a higher dose ONLY ONCE just to know what its effects will be on me? What do you think? I need avises.

ill admit i am a bit lost,, but experimenting with the dosage of a med like this is a bad idea in the long run.
people suggesting you do so is not cool...

experiences with the subject related are very valuable though.
so please be safe, and take these words and posts to come as informative cation.
suggestions for such a thing are, unheard of.

Too be honest, you take too much more and with no tolerance you'll just blackout.

Damn so the only way to know if it works on me is going though a chronic use?

It mentions HPPD with "anxiety features". Are you concerned with perceptual symptoms, anxiety, or both? It would make sense that clonazepam would improve anxiety symptoms, although the fact that it lasted beyond treatment is interesting. I am assuming that your doctor read the actual paper and not just this abstract? The abstract doesn't really specify which symptoms improved or how much.

I don't really know anything about HPPD...but I wouldn't make any increases in benzo doses on your own. Keeping benzo doses as low as possible seems to be the best bet...

Clonazepam will improve anxiety in the short-term, but it is a benzo (quite a potent one at that) so the usual warnings apply.

Some doctors are a bit too liberal with the prescription of benzodiazepines for long-term use. They have the capability to cause much more harm than good.

Soo guys, what do I do? I took 0.75 mg 3 days ago, 1mg yesterday and am planning taking like 1.25mg tomorrow, I just want to know if it affects my HPPD without crossing the withdrawal limit.

You should be figuring this out with your doctor if you are going to be continuing to experiment. Nobody here can tell you how to dose your medication based on the abstract of a study.

0.5-1mg Clonazepam per day for 3 months was the best thing I ever did for my HPPD and related anxiety. Cleared up the symptoms pretty well, relieved the anxiety I was experiencing as a result of them, helped me quit Cannabis for 3 months, and when I came off of it, yes, the symptoms came back, but without the associated anxiety and thus were hardly a concern at all, the 'disorder' part of HPPD was cured and over the next year the symptoms lessened more and more.
