so i have over 300 hours in my fo3 character. the game is pretty easy now, all stats are maxed out, playing on hard mode.

i wanna make it harder, so im gonna make a new character, and set up some "house rules" to follow.

i turn to you, bluelight, to help me establish these added rules.
i'd like you to state the rule, define the rule, and possible implementation.

for example-

allowed to carry limited amounts of stimpacks, and only being allowed to apply them to limbs. therefore, only use food or doctors to heal main hp.
for this rule i need input on how many stimpacks i am allowed to carry.

so ya... lets get this going!

Thats easy. Turn the seat arround and play using a mirror.

Thats the first weeks challenge.

Next weeks challenge is to skoll a drink for every kill.

The following week is to use your left hand only.

Next week.........can only use your feet.

Week after..........have to play blindfolded.

ahhhj, I got a million of these. been there done that.

Hopefully modders will create a hardcore patch like they did with Fallout 2 soon. Part of what ruined Fallout 3 for me was that you couldn't make mistakes that fucked you over permanently, something I miss from most modern games actually.

Play Oblivion.

It is the game that Fallout was built on, but on a much smaller scale. Oblivion makes fallout sound like one of its thousand or so side-quests :).

Just my 2c.

if you have on PC just try with marts mutant mod and other random mods that make it far more challenging?

Gah what, i found it too hard even on the default settings, crossing the Wastelands was a constant heartattack :(

I love both games but jams right Fallout is 1/4 the size of Oblivion's world. Millions of quests that don't even have anything to do with the main storyline. So if you have yet to try Oblivion you most certainly should go get it.

I third on Oblivion.

However for the original thread idea maybe try playing through the game while addicted to substance(s). Maybe if it's still to easy just add on to that. No stealth/thieve classes while addicted so if withdrawal has all your stats to low you're forced to run into town, kill everyone in the clinic, get ur fix, and get the fuck out lol. Throw in some variations and you should be good.

Edit: I'm gonna try this tomorrow, it sounds fun. Especially since I can't find my Oblivion.

300 hours? Whoa!

Your playing on "very hard" already?

I just finished up, I got all five expansions for free and have played Point Lookout and most of Broken steel.

Try using only melee attacks...you'll need high damage resistance and high strength.

mazdan- wow, your challenges do seem... challenging. i have done the whole take a drink for every kill thing, as well as take a hit lol.

kevinkostner- ya i bumped up the difficultly shortly after getting the gauss rifle and stealth suit in operation anchorage. that suit has basically made the game half as hard, though compensating for the rifle's bugs is a challenge in and of itself. broken steel was waaay too easy. i am considering your melee only fighter though, its about as far from my personal playstyle as it gets, so that should be an interesting playthough. once your tempban is gone i'd like you to expand on that idea, if you don't mind.

again, i only have the 360 version or else i would delve into the mods and patches of the pc version.

ive been thinking about picking up oblivion. i tried morrowind several times but just couldn't get into it. is it much different?

lol, Mate we used to do stuff like that while playing four player quake on the PS1.

Some of the other weirder ones I remembered from PS forum challenges more than a decade ago. Always made for funny stuff.
