Latina in trouble

Guest
This guy beats (and has stabbed) women but has never been arrested. He's a drug addict who puts the lives of his child relatives in danger. The law won't touch him. My best friend is his sister and even she doesn't trust him with her kids. Help me, please. I don't know what to do.
[edit: no personal information may be posted on here, even in dire situations; sorry. . .]

I'd call the police and encourage all current and potential victims to seek refuge away from him (obv., one should inquire with women's shelters when friends and relatives are unavailable or not fully safe from this asshole).

Do this, have you and your family stay far away from him, and possibly get restraining orders. I'm moving this to the dark side stay safe.

Yep please go to the authorities and report any situation that will happen going forward.

The OP has stated that the "law won't touch him". Though we like to think that the law is there to protect, and while it is true in many places, it may not be true in a border town in the southwest. My only advice is to move far away if you can and try to get someone even higher up interested in him (FBI if the local police are being paid off).

Well, we don't know the specifics of that though...why which branch of the law won't surveil and penalize him in which respect...there might be a solution, but yeah, barring that, it's a toughey. :/

not an advocate of violence in any way. but if the law will not touch him in any way, get as much evidence possible or turn the community against him in anyway. use any tools at your disposal to discredit his reputation if it is safe.

if nothing works
vigilantism has never failed, in judging right or wrong
