-Those Norco 10's will help, try to use them only when you really need them, otherwise they're going to prolong the WDs even more.
The best method (this is just like the sub taper) is to let yourself go into WDs from heroin, and then take one Norco, see if does anything to help your WDs, it should. If needed, break another one in half and bring your dose up to 15mg. APAP is something to think about, so don't just start shoving Norcos into your mouth, that will do more harm than good at this point.
Find out what amount of hydrocodone you need to ease the withdrawal symptoms and then work your way down from there, like a suboxone taper. That way, you're not in full-blown WD at any point, but instead in very mild WD throughout the taper. The nice thing about having those Norcos is you'll be able to split them into 5mg hydrocodone halves and 2.5mg hydrocodone halves.
I quit my first opiate habit (even though it was only hydrocodone) by tapering down until I got to 10mg, then 7.5mg, then 5mg for a while, then 2.5 for a few days, then down to nothing. Didn't feel any withdrawals at all except for the night sweats. Granted, I wasn't using any powerful opiates at that time so my experience was no doubt easier. My tolerance was lower then too, obviously.
I also recommend getting your hands on some loperamide, its dirt cheap and can really help with the physical part of the WDs, if the hydrocodone can't. It will also help you lower the hydrocodone dose quicker, if you so desire.
You can do it man, you've got a less powerful opiate with which to taper, and that's a step in the right direction. I'm not going to lay out a day-for-day taper plan because I find that they're very different depending on the person, their previous habit, what their taper drugs are, etc. There are lots of guys coming down/using opiates of all kinds down here in Other Drugs so we know what you're going through man, no worries.
Props are tapering your H dosage down prior to jumping into the hydrocodone taper.
Let me know if you need anything,
