Hi @ all

I am a new member on here. Male 35, 75 KG.

Was trying to get some help and information about an issue I am facing right now.

I took my first and only trip on magic mushrooms over half a year ago.

It was a mega dose of around 5 - 10 grams dry golden teachers.

Since then my heart beat is racing like crazy and won't calm down again.

resting pulse was 60 before, now it is 90.

Pulse even goes up to 120 and higher over the day.

Can somebody explain this to me and maybe guide me in the right direction on how to solve this?

Thank you very much!

Big dose first time, I'm sure you know that - also a huge difference between 5 and 10g!

Can't see it being a physical issue (but I'm no doctor)

Sure you aren;t getting anxious prior to taking your pulse? Are you quite fixated on it?

Sorry can't help much (or even understand much given how stoned I am rn) - some relaxation techs could be something to consider though

And, welcome to BL

Thanks for welcoming me.

Yes, did breath work right away but it does not work anymore like before.

Pulse is always high. If I am thinking about it or not. while taking it and without.

It was at least 5 maybe 7,5 max 10 g I think.

Did not scale it, just had a bag and went from this

a cautionary tale - we gotta respect our doses with powerful drugs

tbh friend, I think all you can really hope for will be speculative answers

there are some posters with some good human biology / medical type knowledge though so hopefully one of them can offer something more substantial (but in this kinda case speculation is on the cards so you need to be aware of how said speculation may affect you)

you are the experiencer here - what's your intuition telling you about this situ?

it is too late for that now.

I know it was too much.

now I am only thinking about what happened and how to get the pulse back down. that is not normal for me because I never had something like that before. nothing more intuition right now

I think a simple check up at the doctor is in order. You may have General Anxiety Disorder or something. Valium scripted from a doc might help.
I already went to a doctor. did bloodwork said it is alright and he said pulse of 90 is "normal". but before that 60 was my normal pulse. so 90 -120 is not normal anymore for me.

so you mean it is a mental thing?

Hey there and welcome to blueworld

As already mentioned, this is something i would take up with my doc unless that is not an option. Cause anything that's got to do with the ticker, i would always air on the side of caution.

Apart from that USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION and see if there is any relatable previous posts on this subject at hand. I have chowed shrooms on many occasions and at varying dosages and never had any heart bpm problems. So my best advice so far is see a doc

Edit: just checked but 80+ resting heart rate at your age is poor or bad so to speak. also you already went to the doc, maybe get a second opinion if you can

hi mate, I wasn't criticising you or anything, the comment was for others who may read in future - most (all?) of us on this forum have been reckless

cautionary tales are an important part of the harm reduction educational value of this forum is all

nobody knows why your pulse is higher than previously - it could be 'a mental thing', it could be physical, or a combination

mental sounds the most likely though - sounds like anxiety (but...I don't know)

I think the suggestion to get a second opinion is a sound one, even if 'only' to put your mind at rest

Did you tell the doc the circumstances which came before the rise in pulse rate? (ie that you'd had mushrooms?) If not, then perhaps you could mention that to them (I know that could be problematic, but sometimes we gotta be fully transparent with the medics)

Hi, and thanks for the reply.

yes, always had a pulse at around 60. and could influence it with breath work right away. so this is not normal anymore.

also went to the ER and the chest pain unit, cuz I had pain in the heart and left arm / shoulder.

they just send me back, after checking my pulse and said "90" is perfectly normal. you see?

> i would take up with my doc unless that is not an option<

what you mean like telling him about the trip?

ticker = heart?

or you mean about the trip.

why always air with the side of caution on this topic?

yeah, me neither. just stating the facts.

so nobody on here experienced the same thing while being reckless? makes me think ..

yes until now I did not mentioned it, because of the law and stuff. don't want to be label something and go to the mental institution.

so until now it did not feel safe to say anything to anybody

looks like @Coffeeshroom could be offline, so I'll substitute

ticker is heart, yes

people should always err on the side of caution with heart related matters because hearts are important!

can I say - you do definitely sound quite anxious from the way you respond / phrase things (and why wouldn't you be? a change in pulse rate is alarming no doubt

I personally love getting drunk before taking Mushrooms. It makes the trip more easy.
yes, I heard that before. I didn't want to mix it up at that time. also I stopped drinking a year ago after decades of getting wasted nearly daily.
also it is now too late to reverse the actions and to do it over again while being drunk, even if that would have helped me maybe

thanks for the reply,

that is correct.

yes I think so too.

it is not normal for me to have this

I dunno where you live friend but in most countries you cannot be prosecuted for having taken drugs in the past

They won't send you to mental institution for this either

Please be honest with the doctors if at all possible, and try not to overthink if possible too

not for "just taking" them, right

but they will label you, and or behave in a different way after knowing the truth.

but they possibly can do such actions if they want, and make things up on the fly for example

I would love to be, but until now did not feel safe to tell, you see?

try not to overthinking things is easier said than done, while having a racing heart in your chest 24/7 and not knowing what happened and what it is, is not the best situation to be in imo
