Hey all fellow BL's i have a couple few questions. If this is not in the proper place i apologize please feel free to relocate but i figured since my questions are about a couple different RX's this would be the best place to post. Anyways i have been doing alot of research and cannot seem to find any answers. iv been wondering why is it a bad idea to take dopamine agonists such as requip™ etc while in opiate withdrawal id figure it would help restore some lost dopamine the brain is craving im no pharmacist by any means but just make sense but iv heard its a bad idea and wondering why. But if a person is not in withdrawal what kind of interactions would arise if combining it with opiates i have a script for both Ms contin™ and requip™ but have been leary of taking together but the rls has to go!!! If anyone could enlighten me that eould be tops!!! I apologize for poor grammer and punctuation writing was never my strong suit but if you need an engine rebuilt of any kind im your guy lol! Thanks all!!!!!

I have been on both requip and mscontin together and can tell you that taking them together is fine as long as you're sticking to your prescribed dosages or at least not getting obscene with them. ropinirole has no real recreational value though.

As far as helping in withdrawal, there's a lot more going on neurochemically than just dopamine loss; the main thing that makes you feel sick, put very simply, is that the opiates have been bogarting your endocrine receptors and your body has stopped producing endorphins since it had a replacement. The few days of agony is your body re-learning to produce those chemicals for itself. Ropinirole can help some with the RLS symptoms of withdrawal, much like gabapentin, but it certainly won't combat it outright.
