This post is fairly long and some of it may be gobbeldygook - I'll apologise beforehand for this.

I'll start off with a bit of background info

I've always had anxiety problems, insomnia, and around 4 months ago I was diagnosed with severe depression. After many trial and errors with tablets; I have found the ones that seem to work for me:

-50mg sertraline daily for depression
-10mg/25mg daily/nightly hydroxyzine hydrochloride for anxiety
-40/80mg (depends on how I feel) propranolol to slow my heart rate, sooth anxiety and keep myself calm and prevent panicking.

I have a slight drinking problem - more often than not I will drink daily, sometimes more than I should; but I can stop drinking for as long as I want if I want/need to without problem.

At night I will take anywhere between 2-10mg of etizolam to relax and calm myself down, often mixed with a few cans of cider. I fully understand that blackouts can occur mixing benzos/thenos and do not recommend anyone does this.

Now to the main point

Last night after work I went to the pub and had around 6 pints of medium strength beer/cider/ale - lets say 6 pints of 4.5% avg. - Normally I would only drink 2-3 pints while I'm out.

When I got home, I went and laid down in bed, fired up the laptop and spoke to a few friends. As I had blurred vision due to the drinking and difficulty reading, I snorted 40mg ethylphenidate to wake myself up a bit so I could function properly. This was at around 11pm.
I then took 2mg etizolam orally, and snorted 1mg out of drunken stupidity. (yes I realise benzos calm stimulants down and a better ROA is orally. I took the ethylphenidate so I could function and see properly.)

After a while browsing the web, reading, and watching videos, I decided I'd indulge in a pint of 6% cider to last me the night, another 1mg etizolam and 2x 2mg diclazepam (which i'm not overly familiar with). I soon followed this down with a further 3mg etizolam and 2x 0.5mg pyrazolam. this was at around 3am. At 4am I took 1mg etizolam and watched some videos until I fell asleep at around 6am.

This is a rather normal schedule for me most nights - Maybe not to this extent - but 2 nights a week I will ensure that I'm completely sober.

Woke up around 10am, feeling tired but proceeded with my morning routine anyway. Felt fine after a coffee and a few puffs of my ecig.

Arrived at work feeling fine, no different to usual and got on with some work - I actually seemed to get a whole lot more done today than I normally would as I have slight OCD and felt that I needed to sort, rearrange, and dispose of useless rubbish.

At around 5pm when other staff from different departments were leaving, I started hearing faint music. I assumed it was someone playing music as I was in a different department, it was something I hadn't heard before. All of the staff left, but I could still hear the music. This went on for a good 30 minutes. There was nowhere it could have been coming from as all the systems had been shut down and there was nobody else around. It wasn't coming from any general direction, and I couldn't find the source of the music.
After a while I could no longer hear it, and for about 2 hours everything went on as normal.
When I went into an area that is semi loud (large air cooling units) the music came back. It was something I was very unfamiliar with, some sort of heavy rock song (including lyrics), which then changed into a dance song and kept rotating through genres. This went on for a further 20 minutes or so, and then suddenly stopped.

I've searched google for hours, and can't really find anything that matches my symptoms.
Could anyone identify what is happening to me, or what the issue is? This has never happened before, and has happened 3 times today, only once when I got home for less than 5 minutes.

Any comments are appreciated, helpful or not :)

Many thanks

Chris

I used to hear music but not so clearly like that or with lyrics.

You are sure putting a lot of crap into your body--that will take a toll surely. Do you eat well and get exercise? Nothing like the old prescription of good sleep, exercise and nutrition to clear and stabilize the brain!:)

This seems to be tough one. I would guess that you could have imagined but something might have triggered that imho. You may have missed it..
Let´s try to work on the solution before it gets worse, wouldn´t you agree? Trying to get you sober and sleeping well can eliminate few factors.
I also believe that your mind and body can try to tell you to slow down in its own ways..
As you´ve managed well your drinking issue to the point you could be sober when needed.
Why don´t you take a break from the alcohol and unnecessary pills for a week? Try to cope with being sober for at least 5 - 7 days.
At the meantime take short walks 30 minutes everyday. Eat well and drink lots of water. Can you do that?
This is what my common sense tells me to advise although I cannot explain what really happened to you.
Good luck and get back to us at the meantime..

The same thing happened to me again today at almost exactly the same time; I felt tired and disorientated for a good hour, random constant sounds such as ovens or fans seem to be when it happens more noticeably. For around 20 minutes I thought someone was playing various music I hadn't heard before as she was on her tablet, songs from artists I haven't heard in years, but played in a completely different musical style. (Imagine some sort of heavy metal song but a pop group have made a cover of it or something, that sort of thing). If my memory didn't remember the lyrics it would make them up - at one point I'm pretty confident I heard the whole of a rap song but the words weren't right although at the same time it made complete sense and sounded good to me. This was before realising that it was actually the refrigerator humming along in the background. I also feel a state of disorientation and tiredness when this happens, but after it passes I feel fine again.

I've been taking the medication/ self medicating for a few months now, and never had anything like this before.

I am often on my feet walking around most of the day, so I also tend to drink water fairly often.
Most days I will eat two meals MAXIMUM. I struggle to eat and often just have a small salad, sandwich and some fruit once a day to keep me going during work. Weekends I sometimes skip days but have done so for a while and never had this happen to me before.

I believe it's due to lack of sleep (mostly), but being sober is a struggle at night due to inability to sleep. Yes, it could be the afterglow of the drugs: While I do feel fine during the day (VERY groggy and angry on a morning) they are more than likely still in my system. Once night time hits, I begin to wake up and feel alert, therefore causing a lack of sleep.

I really do appreciate the help and advice from the both of you, and will follow this advice to the best of my ability. I have a week off work for Christmas now, so hopefully I can relax a little and not have to "force myself to sleep".
I just wish someone had some sort of clue as to what on earth this could actually be - It's not like having a song stuck in my head; it's as if it is actually being played from speakers within the room, physical sound, not imaginary.

Thanks for the replies anyway :) it really does mean a lot! I'll update on an as needed basis - I may be a new poster but I do realise that people don't want a step by step commentary of my life haha.

Cheers :)

Chris
