Hello fellas!

This might be a bit early since its just xmas today but I thought I'd start a thread to list our New Years resolution:

First of all I would want to get rid of smoking. Yep maya is still a social smoker so startin from today NO MORE Cigarettes

Secondly I'd like to not drink alcohol for 2 months and go from there. Two months because I'm going to have my bday on march and I'm stoll debating whether I should drink or not.

Lastly will be to add more activities besides working out in the gym. I was thinking of signing up for either krav maga or muay thai kickboxing either by spring or summer time.

So lets hear you guys what are your new year resolutions?

Mine is a little cliche but I want to go back to the gym! I stopped working out on August and have put on 10 pounds.
Also, I plan to start looking for a better job! My current job pays OK but no there is absolutely no work culture whatsoever and it's draining me every time I go to work.

^ i really like your better job plan!!! i am giving 2 weeks notice at my depressing job in a bit over a days time

great thread idea maya

iv got an idea for your social smoking thing, when i was easing into quitting i bought a reasonably good quality e-cig (shouldnt be much over what i hear it costs to buy 3-4 weeks of cigarettes, or thereabouts)

and used that for situations i knew i would struggle immensely (e.g. when i was around my brother who smokes at family events, i love him a lot, but he was a factor in me developing that attachment of gratification to cigs)

i hope you the best, each failure is another notch to your belt of determination and every relapse is a fresh opportunity :)

i am quitting meat, reason being that i have been thinking a lot lately that for my own life right now, meat is murder. and i love animals way too much and want to respect them a bit more, by at least opting out of this unnecessary cycle

^I thought of e cig too but I think I should toughen it up and be stricter with myself when it comes to self control. It has been 5 days since I last smoked so I'm patting myself in tbe back. I know its only been a few days but I'm still proud of myself.

Well, not smoking for 5 days is a good start on quitting. I have difficulties on quitting too, I can't control my self not to smoke. I've tried e-cig but it's not working for me. I guess I need is stricter discipline. And yeah, well, my new years resolution is to quit smoking.

I don't really have vices left outside of still being pretty lazy. I will often just go to sleep when I should be doing some kind of work instead. I have some goals I really want to accomplish in 2014 and if I actually properly work at them day in and day out they should all be achievable.

If you ever want any delicious veg recipes, let me know!!

I have been getting back into exercising a little bit lately. I am NOT super athletic or anything so it is actually only a little bit but I was off for a couple weeks because I was sick and I noticed that I really did lose the little bit of strength I have. So I'm hoping to just do 30 mins of exercise every morning type thing.
I'm also hoping to go completely vegan by the end of 2014. I've been vegetarian for a while and I eat very little dairy, eggs, etc. ... in fact so much that I made myself kinda lactose intolerant, so I can't have much dairy anyway. BUT I still occasionally have some. So I was to go all-out vegan by the end of the year. I'm definitely pretty close but not quite there :p

i just lowered my pain medication quite significantly, nearly a 50% decrease of an oxycodone and morphine concoction and im hoping i can see the year (and further) through without the need to raise it for any amount of time. cutting back IV abuse also goes with that.

organising an exercise routine im going to stick with on a proper regular basis, rather than my "do what i want, when i feel" kind of thing i have going at the moment - which is better than nothing. i just need the structure back which in turn will help with pain levels.

find myself some decent casual/part-time work before my birthday. i need the money so i can keep going out, doing the things i enjoy with my mates and out of the isolation i was in for a while. i cant keep up with all their overseas travelling :P

pretty run of the mill things and im not a huge believer in the whole resolution thing but, theyre a few goals im aiming to achieve a healthier lifestyle than im currently living.

^yep I am doing good with my resolutions so far the only thing is I am attending one of my closest friends bday party on the 16th of this month and yes she wants to drink but I will just try to stay on the dance floor to avoid the drinking part =D

Right now I'm abstaining from all substances and going through a major detox, mostly against my will. My body really rebelled hard toward the end of 2013 so I'm spending the next little while slowing down, listening, and modifying my diet.

I just found out not long ago that I'm celiac, and because the bowel inflammation is still lingering, I also can't process dairy for the time being. Most of the literature says that after about 6 months of abstaining from dairy and gluten, I may be able to process dairy again, but it's iffy. My new year's resolution is to learn how to love food again now that I have to avoid gluten and dairy in everything I eat.

I know someone who has a gluten free diet and also not by choice but because sher stomach tebels on her everytime she eats anything with gluten but hey the benefit is a nice looking body :) I'm actually jealous of her because she's fit and looks great in bikinis.
