Internet Has anyone notice Psychonaut.wiki has become "shadowbanned" just like BL? vs. A rant about Google

I wasn't quite sure where to put this, I suppose this is the correct subforum.

I've recently noticed in the last few months that Psychonaut.wiki, which contains very basic and valuable basic wiki like information of many drugs, particularly exotic drugs. I used to be able to type in rather specific google qieries , and psychonaut.wiki would also be in the first few results. Now it's in the back near page 9, just like bluelight.... you literally have to type "psychonautwiki" or "bluelight" for these websites to show up. The rest of the pages are 100% bullshit rehab ads and various law enforcement links. There isn't even a community or anything negative about this site.

It seems to me that whoever started the project seems less enthusiastic now, or it's just a slow growing site. I don't know. There are many basic entries that aren't filled it.

Anyways, I've become incredibly disillusioned from Google. It is not the company it once was. With the search algorithm, the youtube anti-adblock debaucle, and all the other shitty shit they do, it seems like their new CEO only wants to improve profits, at the cost of user experience. idk....

I want to abandon google, but changing my real email address will be difficult because I've had to for over 20 years. Plus, it would seem isolating from work or friends if you couldn't easily add them on google.

I feel like 99% of the once free internet has become just a big virtual marketplace. Most platforms are trying to earn money by allowing their posters to earn money. And google is top of the list, together with YouTube.

I noticed I buy less books on Amazon Kindle since they were forced by Google to remove the "buy on one click" on the Kindle app. People are being forced to share their data with Google, and worst is, most people do without thinking twice.

Clients I work for had to add OAUTH2 to their platforms because suddenly google didn't allow to manage their mail accounts without it. It's when I got a look at what days they save about a person, and how they blur the way to remove apps from being connected via the gmail accounts. I guess very little users are aware of this, and maybe they don't care, but it's completely unethical.

What would the alternatives be?
Will the internet soon be completely monopolized?

I believe google was or is being sued for monopoly...they just buy your platform and end it.

They legit are everywhere makes me wonder about a dystopian google future...all started by taking our data

What's the best way to go about this? I'm guessing do everything in my power to get rid of all google apps and Gmail? And then get rid of chrome and run Firefox or some shit?

I am really not tech savvy this just some shit I'm regurgitating, including my original post(although I have heard of this lawsuit I guess the government or something is sueing).

It's wicked when you think about everything we use Google for and just Imagine our country trying to police like other countries, where cameras get facial recognition of you Jay walking and you get a fine or lose points on your economic latter, that or if you aren't popular enough on your online platforms so you earn less money...? Some shit along those lines sounds like a very possible scary future along with our privacy with phones, which has already started since Snowden fled the country.
 
I go further than some people are able to where I host several of my own server for handling file storage, DNS requests, and email. I moved away from self hosting because because that was a shit show, gmail always bounced my messages so it was impossible to communicate with some people no matter what fixes I tried. I have an android device without google derives or apps installed as well so I have no need for a google account outside of work activities

The average non-computer person should still be able to run a degoogled phone, set up a NAS on their home network, and make sure they're using privacy respecting DNS servers as well as switch to a privacy respecting email provider. It isn't easy to make the switch but I'm glad I did

Oh and a google maps alternative is open street maps. Osmand is an android app that does route calculation on the device, it can work fully offline

I think we just need to up our SEO (Search Engine Optimization) game so get back on the frontpage.

Yeah apparently the people that run psychonautwiki are in the middle of some kind of leadership crisis. Not sure what the deal is, but yeah it has not really been updated for some time. It's a pretty useful resource for information on the classic drugs. I was hoping it would something that could potentially be really helpful for information about newer substances and analogues, but with how that's going I don't think it will ever be updated with some of the niche and miscellaneous drugs.

And yeah Google is absolute trash. The only reason I use it is because of it being so synced up with Android and it's use there.

Back on topic. I use duckduckgo but there are all sort of stuff, from every side that seem to scrubbed from the internet.

I maybe technology impaired but I got my first email address in 95/96 in college and have noticed that the internet is changing and in many ways and not for the better in many cases.

There seems to agendas being pushed, scrubbing of sites or hiding them. Not necessarily political but trying to promote and destroy people and sites.

Also greed is really taking hold. Hey, if someone earns a lot, honestly and ethically and pays taxes and does nothing wrong and gets wealthy, fine.
 
My advice to all is get your android phone, log out, delete their services, use FOSS freetube/grayjay etc instead of youtube, flash a privacy OS.

And for search use www.yandex.com for unfiltered search.

I literally remember the exact time they delisted us in conjunction with their new "more authoritive search results".


Fuck these arseholes. Yandex is best.

google is ass, unfortunately i have a google pixel phone rn so im just dealing with it at the moment. i've been trying to detach as much as I can from all of their services. did get the yandex keypad app though so they're not reading my damn words lol. and then apparently startpage is a good option for search engine that gives you similar results. i've changed all my browsers to Brave, and got a full proton.me subscription so i'm backing up all of my files into an encrypted drive and all that shit. once thats settled and i have all of my pictures and things im gonna delete everything of mine associated with google
