Just curious, if you have, how was the experience? And if you haven't done this would you try LSD during benzo w/d?

I wouldn't during acute withdrawals cause I would think it would put you at risk of seizures and nightmarish trips. But after that, hell, it could give you the inspiration to stay off em.

I have during mild opiate WD, but I would think benzo WD would be a different story. I can't imagine it being pleasurable. The already heightened feeling of anxiety would be amplified imo and make for an unpleasant experience.

I think I took mushrooms during very mild opiate w/ds when I was 18, without really knowing I was in wd's because I got Horrible diarhea on them while everyone else was fine..I didn't wanna take my pills cuz I wanted the trip to be 'pure' but really wish I would have taken a pill or two to avoid the shits so bad..Now I couldn't imagine why anyone in there right fuckin' mind would do it in benzo w/d,sounds like the definition of hell if you ask me...

Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

OP, if you're looking for the use of LSD as a way to deal with addiction, this isn't the way. Your nervous system during bzd withdrawal is going to be far too agitated to make good use of the psychedelic experience. Expect nothing but paranoia, agitation, and severe anxiety, leading to fractal fear ... not a good idea.

Now, OTOH, once you've distanced yourself from the addictive drug of choice, a good trip can help with the psychological factors that dealt with that addiction, but not now.

Be careful, stay safe.

I've (fortunately!) never gone through a benzo WD, but for opiates this is excellent advice for trying to move on from them. Once the physical WD is over, if you have a good trip within the first day or two of feeling 'normal' again it is almost like hitting a reset button. It gives significance to the moment, like "Hey, I got through the WD and now I'm having a fun, introspective experience". It gives the feeling of starting fresh, starting anew. For me it gave me hope and the feeling of real happiness, which I hadn't felt on opiates and hadn't felt in a long time. It just allowed my mind to move on from everything I had gone through. Like that part is over. The physical WD is done and now I can move forward in my life. I have freedom from opiates and the trip (mushrooms in my case) gave me the feeling of tabula rasa; a clean slate.

Felt like a fresh start, a new beginning, the chance to move forward and start building again. The trip removed the weight of negativity that accumulated during the last stages of using, the tapering, and the WD.

Overall, I think hallucinogens/psyches are an unutilized and often misunderstood tool. I actually brought this up in my suboxone group (my doctor makes us have mandatory weekly group meetings). I think some of the people thought I was joking, but a number of them seemed to understand what I was saying. They could see the potential it had with the healing process.
