I just tried one of those hard ketones drinks marketed as an alcohol replacement. They do indeed work effect was quite noticeable. It would be more correct to market these as a GHB replacement than alcohol because that's what the effect is more similar to. It is less strong and less euphoric than GHB although there is a tiny bit of the GHB euphoria. If you like GHB and want to try something legal and less addictive you might like this.

This definitely has my attention, for some reason I haven't heard about "hard" ketones. How would you say the effects differ from alcohol?

I don't really enjoy drinking, and GHB is on the very short list of drugs that I have not tried yet, but want to. Alcohol is really hard on my stomach, and I get nausea before I can get enjoyable effects, so something like that is definitely interesting.

Compared to alcohol, the effect is a lot more clear headed and you don't loose coordination or feel numb like with alcohol. Instead it's much more of a sensation of strong relaxation and a warm body high. You feel calm and kind of sedated and anxiety just melts away.

Compared with alcohol, you don't really feel "drunk" the effect is a bit more subtle and longer lasting. When I used to take GHB I found it also helped me a great deal with social anxiety and it has some empathogenic effects as well as in feeling more connected to other people. It won't upset your stomach like alcoohl but these hard ketones can leave an unpleasant taste in your mouth. It also won't dehydrate you or cause an alcohol like hangover, although you may feel sedated the next day.

Thanks for the explanation. I'm definitely going to try one of those sometime, it sounds like something I would enjoy.
