Had my first dose of cotton fever.

Gather all of my cottons I had saved. Some are months old. Most were. Put them all in a 3ml syringe, added water, etc. Squeezed out a combo of dope, oxymorphone, oxycodone, etc. Whatever I shot up. About 2 or 3 hours later I woke up and was shivering uncontrollably, was hallucinating, trying to talk to people that weren't there but my jaw was so shivering I couldn't speak.

I felt like i had a fever of God knows how high, I took antibiotics, ibuprophen, zanex, and valium. Woke up 2 hours later same condition, took same meds, fell asleep, woke up with just the fever and still hallucinating conversations, fell back to sleep and woke up fine.

An experience I never want to go through again.

This addiction is getting deeper and deeper. I remember being afraid to snort an 80 now I am risking my life to avoid withdrawal.

I don't know if I am going to end up dead or clean but I wish the end of the story would come because this ain't living.

I called a friend hoping he had a bag to spare and was sick too and said he did some cotton shots and it helped some. So I tried it and all hell broke loose. I contemplated going to the ER but am afraid of the ER because of my track marks. I survived and learned a lesson I guess but would advise anyone consider cotton shots be prepared for something way worse than withdrawal. My advice is ride it out.

I was desperate and didn't boil the water in the spoon before injecting. I did everything possibly wrong and paid the price. It was great for a little while. I was unsick then the cotton fever set in and it was indescribable. It could only be understood from experience.

I'm not well-versed with injecting, but I have one newb question: why would anyone re-use cotton, and run the risk of infection, when it's so cheap to purchase? I guess if you're completely balls-out broke, that would explain it.

Balls ass broke. Cotton has a minimal amount of dope in it. You get enough pieces of cotton you can get a half ass shot together. If you are pretty sick and your tolerance is lowered through withdrawing a few days you can get a little relief. If nothing else, enough to get some sleep instead of tossing and turning and suffering.

I didn't tell the whole story. I had the cottons in the syringe from a few days ago. I did a shot and it worked. Well like a dumbass I didn't take out the cottons so they could dry. The dampened cottons sat in there and got knows what bacterias and other stuff grew in the couple days they were in a bacteria friendly environment. In desperation you'll do stupid shit to get some relief.

Heroin helper is a life saver. I looked up cotton fever and found that it is intense but very short lived and that came to be true thank God. I never had a fever to the point of hallucinating until last night. It was no fun. I had the temp on 90 and was still shivering and felt like I was freezing even though I could feel the heat radiating off my body.

Never again. Then again I said never again about a lot of stuff but addiction has a way of forgetting lessons learned from mistakes.
