Hello All! Short version of my complicated life, I am a psychologist who specializes in the academic achievement special needs children via school district or mental facilities (or as ghostbusters so eloquently put it, "I am the key holder,"...to special education that is, not an underworld...lol). Backstory of my health, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder SLE (lupus) and a blood disorder (APS) which is usually found comorbid with folks diagnosed with SLE. I have chronic arthritic, muscle and nerve pain. So, I see an amazing pain management specialist(who also happens to have a decent background in psychology specifically with those diagnosed with disorders, mental or not, related to chronic pain/fatigue/etc.). My treatment plan currently is as follows:
~ 30mg oxycodone 3/daily
~ 10mg methadone 2/daily
~ 10mg adderrall 2-3/daily
**be sure to note, these are the only mood alternating medications I am on. I take a coctktail of around 25 pills due to my condition, including: immmunosuppressants, chemotherapy drugs, anti-inflammatory, anti-malarial, blood thinners and anxiety.

Previously I was under the care of an asshole who did not manage my pain, but was an AMAZING drug dealer and lead me down a very scary/destructive path while on Opana ER (he even told me Opana is like a vitamin...I trusted him bc I never heard of it and didnt know about these things). Opana took an entire year away from my life, but i'm not here for a soapbox, just thought I'd tell my story. Opana works well for some I'm sure....just not me.

Please feel free to ask me anything, I just want to make myself educated on the REAL effects/thoughts/feelings/outcomes of medications, first hand from a real person and not the little leaflet the pharmacist puts in the bag with a whole range adverse effects.

Welcome to Bluelight! I am very impressed with the detail oriented approach to your introduction, and the fact that you did share quite a lot about yourself. :)

I'm glad you have found a doctor who is more willing to prescribe pain medications, as you do have a medically justifiable reason for having them. As I'm sure you are well aware of, anti-anxiety medications (if they are benzodiazepines or sedative in nature) will have synergy when taken with either the oxycodone and methadone. I know a lot of members of Bluelight have died or have almost died due to combining benzodiazepines and methadone. So always be careful, and be safe. :)

I have met someone else in life who works in the same line as you do, and it takes a very unique, kind, caring individual to work in that field but I am sure it is very rewarding. :) You can always PM me if you have any questions about Bluelight or the site in general.

Before I forget - I love encountering other psychology majors in NMI! :) We should start a club just for Bluelight Psych majors eh? :D
