Hello everyone,
I finally feel like I need to get off Kratom once and for all.
I have been dosing over 60+ grams a day and I just want off of it all.
Tomorrow will be my last dose in the morning, and then NOTHING.
I have gabapentin and etizolam.
If it gets bad enough, I will be getting some blood pressure meds from the ER to help.
I also will be buying some immodium too.
Kratom has helped me so much but I just think it's time to get off of it all.
I want to be clean from all drugs.
So wish me luck everyone, I hear Kratom WD is like coming off SSRI's and Opiates at the same time.
I will keep you all updated.
Much love.

60 grams a day c/t, screw that why not just taper the kratom instead of switching over Imodium? I'm guessing with your habit you would need a much higher than the recommended dose for relief which has been proven to be damaging to the body.

I've never came off an SSRI but I found kratom w/d much like weed w/d with some opioid added extras, granted I was never using more than 15 grams a day. Good luck on which ever way you end up going. :)

The withdrawal is not particularly long lasting, or difficult. I second the tapering down from sixty grams. That is some excessive dosing IMO.

You got this man! Just be careful not to replace the kratom for something else that is not healthy. How is your ankle? Can you take part in any exercise, or get outdoors and do some hobbies?

It is important to fill one's time with something in order to beat cravings, which are the hardest part of the kratom withdrawal.

So I've been intentionally staying off of this forum in particular as I have some personal stuff related to a recent surgery going on, but I can't just read your post wow0mg and not respond. Dude - you've been doing so well and you're so close I think you really need to stop and weigh your options moving forward so you don't make a poor choice and back track.

60mg is a lot of kratom - quitting cold turkey is going to be tough. I think doing so is going to put your sobriety in unecessary harm as I think people who have had extended addictions to opiates have harder withdrawals from kratom. Unfortunately I haven't found any studies to back that up, but reading through kratom forums it seems that nonopiate addicts don't have as intense withdrawals, so I think you should consider a taper.

I think turning to Imodium is inherently a bad idea as well because it could trigger you to something stronger than kratom. I'm not completely in your boat but I do have some kratom withdrawals (20mg a day) I am going to battle during the holiday weekend, and I can't help but feel that you taking immodium to help with the withdrawals would be like me having a beer to help with mine. You will be taking a step closer to your DOC and not further away.

I'm responding because I care about you and have followed your journey since the beginning of the year and I don't want to see you making a larger mistake. You want to be sober and you want to reach that goal as painlessly as possible - I think a taper is your best bet. You will have to stay focused on the end goal, and not give in to discomfort but it's definately do able. Sobriety isn't a race, there is no need to rush this. You are at such a great point right now, take the time to consider all of you options and their possible consequences before choosing a course of action. Good luck and please keep us updated!

I have to second that turning to high dose loperamide isnt the best idea, at least not for more than two days in a row. And by high dose I am talking 60-80mg or more. But doses of like 20-40mg may be very helpful for you if you do have to CT the kratom. If you can avoid having to CT the kratom youd be so much better off though. Do you have any alternatives, like ordering more to do at least some kinda taper?

Mind over matter buddy, you gots this if you need to get this.

Yeah, so much of withdrawal is really mindo over matter for the vast majority of us, as most people do not have the kind kf seriously nasty habits that lead to a really excruciating withdrawal. Not that any withdrawal is fun, but you know what I mean.

How are you doing treezy? I sidnt mean to be a cunt in the sexual ethics thread you made, I just have strong feelings about it all. I was pretty impressed you stepped up and brought the subject up and asked the hard questions, really putting yourself out there. It is such an important topic, as there are a lot of really mallicious people with seriously fucked up motives in recovery oriented communities who have really become preditors and are quite skilled at taking advantage of vulnerable people. It is sad, but it is a fact of life. Because it is rarely talked about, little is ever done about it. I really commend you for starting that thread. I kind of regret being so harsh, but it is what it is.

Keep up the good work my friend.

I'm doing good, I have a couple of months to get my stuff together.
Going back to school, hitting up meetings, working steps.
Feeling good man!
