After reading through the post relating to the Opera Winfrey Special on Ecstacy ( Opera Winfrey - Ecstacy Special)
I came across the following quote which interested me quite a bit.
In Dr. Chang's study, 10 of the subjects were scanned again, after the administration of two doses of MDMA. Cerebral blood flow was reduced somewhat in some brain regions at two weeks after the last dose of MDMA. 2 subjects were scanned again after 10 weeks and were found to have elevated cerebral blood flow in some regions. Dr. Chang reported, "Our findings suggest that the initially decreased rCBF normalizes with time and may even increase above baseline at later time points
I have been taking Ginkgo Biloba off and on for the last 6 months to help my memory, it increases bloodflow around the cerebral cortex giving cognative enhancements, it is also apparantly a strong anti-oxidant.
Now my question is, could Ginkgo Biloba be used to help minimise this apparent drop in cerebral bloodflow, also could its antioxidant properties give other beneficial effects?
Or are there more powerful substances which can help increase cerebral bloodflow?
Does anyone have any other evidence to contradict the above quote or to support it?
Cheers people

I'd be more interested to know if Ginkgo Biloba does actually improve your memory and provide the cognative benefits that so many people have mentioned. well Krillsta? in your opinon <fill in the blank>

Great! next thing we will be inundated with Ginkgo Biloba drinks, chocolate bars and the like............until everybody realises that it isn't as magical as all the marketers say, ie Guarana
Isn't it funny though that people won't take a second though of dropping a pill, with no idea of the % of active ingrediants in it, yet spend endless hours researching these mystical natural herbs to try and lessen the impact of the drug in the first place!

I actually think (anecdotally) that gingko is helpful the week after e use. There is increasing evidence that it is effective at reducing cognitive decline, but not so much evidence to support the memory enhancement claims. It is used in mainstream medicine in Europe. I am not aware of any research on gingko and MDMA.
See CNS effects of gingko biloba...for a medline search on studies including gingko see here.

SAboy, LOL you make a very valid point.
well like krill i am into the vitamins 100%. i have over 20 different types of naturla vitamins, including 3 different types of ginko. i have the "cenovis Ginko Plus", "blackmores Ginko Forte" and "vitoplex ginko biloba 2500"
i used to wake up every morning and feel tired, run down, i would get ulsars and shit from lack of sleep, but after i started taking vitamins my need for sleep as been reduced, i get less sleep, wake up take my vitamins, and i feel alert and in control. i dont know about memory, like it isnt that altering for you to notice a difference, but it does help.
i use vitamins before, after and during i take drugs, and it helps me. it helps peak my roll, it helps make sure my roll is safe, and it helps reduce the after effects of the roll.
when all my vitamins kick in, it feels like a pill kicking in, then youa re all alert, it is good shit.
but yeah, stayng healthy and being cazreful with things like this is always a WISE thing to do.
so keep it lean, keep it green <-----WTF¿¿
ciao
