I dunno, I'm kinda surprised that The Lounge has found a new low. Wasn't sure that was possible..

Am pretty disgusted with the comments over there. Guess they don't know the meaning of humanity or compassion, eh?

Thanks. I'm pretty sure a few posts have been deleted. But for those that have read the situation and seen Lysis's posts I don't think they are in any kind of position to be a moderator of SLR, whether I post there or not - shouldn't they be providing advice in this situation rather than taking the piss? While Amanda_Eats_Pandas has finally taken the sensible option of closing the tinychat thread they've still made some ridiculous posts that makes me wonder what the hell is going on here with people like that moderating. Although, I understand that this is all fairly recent and I'm sure it's being discussed behind closed doors so we shall see what happens. The Lounge might be basically a troll board, but this is serious, there is no humour in it whatsoever. Also, time zones and all that considering The Lounge is mostly American.

The Lounge isn't the way it is because of America. The Lounge is the way it is because of 4chan, reddit, and similar sites. Europeans use those sites too. Just like Europeans post in The Lounge. Your argument is invalid, Kate <3

Agreed. Very little banter but plenty of insults and general "fuck yeah" "faggot" type comments. American through and through. Oddly enough the yanks in the MDPV thread in EADD all seem more level headed and polite and normal than those in most of the other forums. Perhaps they should replace their ritalin with MDPV over there...might make them a bit more civilised.

Definitely. I've met a few Americans and by and large they're the nicest people you could ask to meet.

I was actually shocked by their politeness and helpfulness when I was over in Oregon last Autumn (or should I say Fall?)

Teh Lounge is a foreign country. They do things differently there.

Honestly it's exactly what I'd expect 'em to do. Is their way. Sensitivity, decency and respect are not words in their common lexicon. I'm glad I didn't see the pix, and vey sorry Mugz did. That was seriously out of order. What passes for humour in there is rarely particularly humorous but even for their some of the stuff is fukkin low to say the least. There's no way Lounge mods are gonna remove it though and they'll find summat else to do tomorrow anyway. Hopefully.

Places like The Lounge, 4chan et al aren't everyone's cup of tea, but don't attribute them to the culture of one continent. This is the bloody internet, after all. There are no continents.
