I've been on Buprenorphine for almost 2 and a half years and need to get off. I tried weaning and was always unsuccessful. So today is day 1 (almost to my 24th hour) without any. I jumped from 16 mg a day. I've done this twice in the past but never from this dose and was always in jail and had no choice but to get off. I'm on my prescribed dose and have zero help from my doc to get off!!! I have about 40 Clonidine and am hoping to use these to help the WD. I am fortunate enough that I own my own business so am able to stay home in bed as long as I need until I feel better. I got a dosage plan for my Clonidine from another forum as I've been reading on here for years but have never posted. Any suggestions or just some support would be greatly appreciated. I hope that I've posted this correctly!! Hope to hear from you all soon!!

BTW I feel fine so far, just have zero energy!!

Eating vegetables, switching to a vegan diet, exercising regularly, and taking college classes should do the trick!

Best way is not to stop cold turkey but wing off. you don't need to take 16mg a day at least not with suboxone the doctor will write you 16mg-36mg a day when you need nothing close to that to feel ok. The best way I've learned to wing off after long time of opiate abuse is to first 3-7 days 8mg once daily do not take multiple times a day only take one dose a day. Then from there 4mg for about a week then i go down to 2mg which covers 80% of what takes in opiates in the mind. I believe around 16mg only does 90% or around there so 2mg is only a 10% difference in the brain. So once down to 2mg i start extending the time between dose. So 24 and then i go to around 28-36 depending on how i feel. But in a couple of weeks to a month going 2 days between won't be a issue. Some people like getting to two days with 3-4mg but lowering and extending the time between will get you to where one week you will be like damn ive not taken any in a week and then you will be free as long as you don't' go back to what got you one them in the first place with is another topic in itself. I wish you good luck and hope you achieve your new freedom with as little pain as possible.
