So I have stupidly found myself with a heroin habit again, and one that I know I can't maintain. My two supply lines have hit very bad fates. I can't afford it. It's bad for me. All among a number of other reasons. Anyway I'm pretty worried about withdrawal. Right now I am dealing with some issues from all fronts, family, girl, job, basically the whole buffet. When I think about doing this I get very worried. I have only been on heroin for about three weeks, but before that I was doing Oxy and Roxy for a month, heavy. And before that it was maybe four months of Hydrocodone abuse, which got heavy itself. Long story short I got myself into a bit of Hydro back in the springtime after a year off of opiates, pretty soon I was using that at such ridiculous levels that the Oxy came as a relief. Then of course the natural progression back to heroin because Oxy is a once a month thing at best. And thats the short of it, how I find myself here with a killer opiate problem again.
Ok so what I'm wondering is how I could get myself onto a fast-track program using either Methadone or Suboxone to withdrawal. I'm talking about only a few days of either here. I have been all the way down the Methadone road and I have no intention of going there again, not to mention it would be setting myself into a much heavier addiction than the H, and I do not want that. I would like to find a doctor who would get me just enough of either one to do a weeks withdrawal. I have heard, from people on these boards, that this is an effective method to get through withdrawal. And I believe it too because each have much longer half lives and I have found that using a longer half life drug when coming off of a shorter half life drug to be effective. Basically it seems that the longer drug takes your through the beastly part of withdrawal without getting you addicted to the new drug.
Anyway, is anyone familiar with getting a doctor to give you only a short order dose of Methadone or Suboxone, in order to get through withdrawal. Experiences all around would be helpful.
