Fani Willis accuses a special prosecutor’s estranged wife of ‘interfering’ with Trump election case

"ATLANTA (AP) — Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is accusing the estranged wife of a special prosecutor she hired of trying to obstruct her criminal election-interference case against former President Donald Trump and others by seeking to question her in the couple’s divorce proceedings.

A motion filed last week by a defense attorney in the election case alleges that Willis was involved in a romantic relationship with attorney Nathan Wade. A lawyer for Willis wrote in a filing Thursday that lawyers for Wade’s wife, Joycelyn Wade, served a subpoena to the district attorney last week.

The filing says that the subpoena is being sought “in an attempt to harass and damage” Willis’ professional reputation and accuses Joycelyn Wade of having “conspired with interested parties in the criminal Election Interference Case to use the civil discovery process to annoy, embarrass, and oppress” the district attorney."

Agreed, I blame those same people that are letting this stuff happen and not doing enough. If it were me in power I would violate and lock trump up. Tell him to shut the f*ck up. I would tell anyone squalking that if they don't shut up they are next. (dictator Jack LOL) I would go after any chicenksh*t that gives a death threat safelty tucked behind a phone or computer with a charge of cowardice (if that exists) . I always felt death threats are one if the most cowardly actions there is. They are just talking. I always say worry about the guy that says nothing but comes at you. Like Pope on Animal Kingdom. :)

But we always knew through TV shows and media that rich people get away with a lot because they have money to delay, appeal and work out other things that need money.
 
the article i posted addresses those attempts to smear fani willis.

the truth will come out.

if trump is so obviously innocent of these charges, why have there been a number of attempts - including by the house oversight committee - to interfere?

the irony of jim jordan subpoening anybody, expecting them to comply, is completely lost on jordan and the republicans. this b.s. is so transparent. talk about weaponization...

unlike jordan, i expect she'll comply.

Yea but it will delay it past the election making it pointless because Trump will pardon himself if elected.

At least a non dumbass prosecutor will get put on this case now and Fani will get thrown off because I don’t trust her not to blow the case in some other way seeing how dumb she was.
 
Yeah it’ll just add to a circus-like environment for the case, and that’s an environment that orange man thrives in. The facts about what happened remain the same but it’s definitely a negative impact on this particular case, no doubt about that imo
 
I don't see the problem here. Like, suppose, hypothetically, that all of the accusations against Willis are true. Just for the sake of argument.

So that means that she hired a prosecutor based on a personal relationship. Following what we usually expect from corruption, a -worse- prosecutor than she would have hired based on merit.

Then the -defense- contests this. They don't like the prosecutor. They want the non corrupt selection. The hypothetical better prosecutor who would have been hired if — double counterfactual — Willis had not hired a prosecutor based on a personal relationship.

Why the fuck would the defense want a better prosecutor? THEY'RE THE DEFENSE. They -benefit- from an incompetent prosecutor.

The whole controversy is "sue me harder, Mommy!" It's ridiculous.

But it still doesn't matter very much, because there are three prosecutors!
 
Initially I was upset that Fani was talking too much. But she campaigned almost. Like if I have to talk you have to listen. She would be asked a weak question and would say that was the day before the benefit for "blah blah" that helped the people of "blah blah". She did that so much the smooth talking southern lawyer forgot his questions. The biggest "aha" any lawyer had was that she had used cash app to purchase a few things. That would insult any regular person.

I think this is just a delay tactic that people with money can throw at the courts. I watch Law and Order. Jack and Clair had a relationship and it did not affect any trials. It is almost shameful that it is allowed. But different laws and avenues for the rich, or even purported rich people.
 
Can anyone think of a more painful hell than having to go through a million court dates? trump is not winning. His life is over, he should have stayed on celebrity apprentice. His family should have stopped him from becoming president. Legally it is the same analogy as giving a kid matches and a can of gasoline. Becoming president puts your life under a microscope but hubris and ego let him go ahead anyway.

But he is not getting off of anything. Every day, every week is a new level of hell. Dread is worse than an actual event. One court date would have any of us very nervous. Even for a traffic issue. You can't escape dread.

But I get it, I feel bad for the little guy that did almost nothing and is in jail. trump should be held accountable and i believe he will. No one thought we would be this far a few years ago.

i think one person I dislike more than trump is Merrick Garland. He is the quintessential snowflake thrown at liberals. He should have hit this hard to first year. Go back to teaching kindergarden Garland!! Get rid of him.
