sidney powell has filed a motion to sever in the georgia indictment case: Sidney Powell says she was not an attorney for Trump, wants to sever her Georgia trial from co-defendants

it's delusional.

a couple of prime extracts:

"Her entire life and career have been built on integrity, the Rule of Law, and her love of Truth and Justice. entire life and career have been built on integrity, the Rule of Law, and her love of Truth and Justice."

that is just hilarious coming from the lawyer who was sanctioned over her part in the trump election lies. the 6th circuit court "...found that the allegations of electoral fraud Powell and others had pushed were baseless, frivolous or even refuted by their own filings."

and this nonsense also from the motion:

"She has no substantive connection with any other defendant regarding the charges in the Indictment. has no substantive connection with any other defendant regarding the charges in the Indictment."

orly?

only the best people.

jim jordan attempting to interfere in the georgia case in a pretty clear cut case of congressional overreach: Fani Willis accuses Rep. Jim Jordan of 'partisan misrepresentations' over inquiry of election case

"ATLANTA (AP) — The district attorney who brought charges against former President Donald Trump and others over their efforts to overturn the results of Georgia’s 2020 election sent a scathing letter to U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan on Thursday, accusing him of interfering in a state case and pushing “outrageous partisan misrepresentations.”

The letter from Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to Jordan, the Republican chair of the House Judiciary Committee and a close ally of Trump’s, came in response to one he sent last month expressing concerns about the motivations behind her investigation and demanding that she provide certain documents by Thursday. Instead, Willis sent him a nine-page retort detailing the “inaccurate information and misleading statements” in his letter.

“Its obvious purpose is to obstruct a Georgia criminal proceeding and to advance outrageous partisan misrepresentations," Willis wrote. "As I make clear below, there is no justification in the Constitution for Congress to interfere with a state criminal matter, as you attempt to do.”
"

also: Fani Willis Blasts Jim Jordan For Investigating Trump Charges: ‘You Lack A Basic Understanding Of The Law’

"Fani Willis—the Georgia district attorney who charged former President Donald Trump—shot back at Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) after the House committee he chairs opened an investigation into her office in August, accusing the Republican of failing to understand the law and trying to obstruct the criminal proceedings against Trump and his allies.
...
Willis also said Jordan’s letter “makes clear that you lack a basic understanding of the law, its practice, and the ethical obligations of attorneys generally and prosecutors specifically,” providing an explanation of a prosecutor’s “basic obligations.”

She advised the lawmaker—whom she called a “non-member of the bar”—to pay $249 for a copy of a book that explains RICO statutes, as she said his understanding of the indictment against Trump and his allies is “misinformed.”
...
The DA also emphasized Trump is not immune from criminal prosecution and called Jordan’s suggestion the former president and his allies should not have been prosecuted “offensive,” writing, “Here is another reality you must face: Those who wish to avoid felony charges in Fulton County, Georgia … should not commit felonies in Fulton County, Georgia.”
" (my emphasis).

I'm happy we finally got a mugshot and best of all these are state charges coming from a largely red state. So accusations of 'political motivations' will be hard to make. Though I'm sure Trump will twist himself into a pretzel to try and make it sound that way.

big news today: Ex-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell pleads guilty, could testify in Georgia case

"WASHINGTON, Oct 19 (Reuters) - A former lawyer for Donald Trump on Thursday pleaded guilty to aiding the former U.S. president's efforts to overturn his election defeat in the state of Georgia, agreeing to testify against him if called.

The lawyer, Sidney Powell, pleaded guilty to six counts of conspiracy to commit intentional interference with performance of election duties, a misdemeanor charge. She agreed to testify against Trump and the other 16 co-defendants in the case if prosecutors ask her too.

The Georgia case is one of four concurrent criminal cases that Trump, the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, is facing, and one of two specifically focused on his attempts to overturn his election defeat. Trump continues to falsely claim his loss was the result of fraud.

Powell's plea came just days before she was set to go to trial beginning on Monday on charges including racketeering and conspiracy to commit election fraud.

Did you hear that sound? Shhhhhh, listen. The sound of the first domino falling at the start of a chain reaction.

exactly. who the hell would want to take the fall for trump at this point?

he continues to bloviate outside the courtroom where his mock outrage has no value other than spinning up the base.

he was talking outside the courtroom yesterday and he was whining about the fact that he couldn't be campaigning in "iowa, new hampshire, south carolina..." because "they" were keeping him there in court. he then walked off and reporters asked him if he'd be back in court the next day. he said, no as he was going to a golf tournament. nobody's keeping him there and it took him less than a minute to forget his lie and keep his story straight. utter fail.

I know, tell me about it. We have always heard there are different laws for the rich and the poor. Taking way too long. I feel bad for petty criminals that have had to do time. Anyone else that tried to steal an election would have been hung up by their balls. Fake electors. Unbelievable.

it is taking a while but it's a big case.

las veghost grower said last year that they obviously have nothing on him or they would have charged him quickly. solid cases take time to build and that claim was proved oh so wrong.

patience grasshopper.
