I was wondering what people have to show for when it comes to unusual paraphernalia, that's not easily obtainable or never has been commercially available, maybe even self-built.
I recently fixed my old scale, a Mettler B5 that was manufactured in 1947. It has a more than sufficient precision of +-30ug, weighs up to 200g and the best part is: I only paid 30 bucks for it a couple of years ago!
While I sat there fixing and calibrating the thing (manually, no tools required) I realized how much I'm in love with it and how much the inside fascinates me. I wondered if there are any other peculiar folks like me out there with pieces of paraphernalia that you don't get to see every day.
I could go on rambling about the beauty of this, but I'll just wait and see if anyone has similar stuff laying around. Here's a pic of the beauty, not my own though:
