According to this post it's metabolized to GABA in the CNS. But I know of no in-vivo human trials, so definitely no experience reports that I can find anywhere.

It's surely less recreational than GBL, but it's a more effective COP inhibitor.

Does anyone know of anyone having ingested this, and what the outcome was?

Synonyms: 2-Pyrrolidone; pyrrolidin-2-one (IUPAC); 2-Pyrrolidinone; alpha-Pyrrolidone; gamma-Aminobutyric lactam; gamma-Aminobutyrolactam; Butyrolactam; 2-Oxopyrrolidine; 2-Pyrol; 4-Aminobutyric acid lactam; gamma-aminobutyric acid lactam...

I'm pretty sure that the diethyl analogue is a really effective recreational drug, and a really potent anticonvulsant.

this is a metabolite of aniracetam, yeah? maybe that explains why I like aniracetam so much.

Diethyl? Where are those ethyl groups?

The eponymous diethyl-lactam, aka DEABL:

and the literature supports him.

^Which literature are you referring to?

Edit: Forget the question, I found it: Journal of Medicinal Chemistry 1996, 39(9), p.1898
