Alcohol has an effect of sobering me up... Ashwaganda and also Phenibut both give me energy and make me on point. absolutely no adhd type symptoms, no indecisiveness, etc.

Is this normal?

a little background: I used ashwaganda for 2-3 months, and it worked pretty great by giving me energy and motivation. Then I used mdma one time, and after that ashwaganda lost its original effectiveness. Alcohol, phenibut and ashwaganda still "sober" me up and make me feel on point in a way much different than adderall/ normal stimulants. Is this normal?

Phenibut is a GABA-B agonist, I think. I've never tried it though.

But yeah, alcohol "sobering you up" is definitely not normal, heh.

Not really sure exactly what kind of answer you're expecting here....but there's many drugs that enhance people's abilities to do certain tasks, or make one feel more in tune to certain activities....I have times where a few drinks of alcohol make me feel more comfortable and able to play music...Marijuana also helps with playing music and seems to improve my ability to play certain video games...Most of the members of BL could probably come up with a whole list of certain situations certain drugs seem to help them with...

The problem is: If you take a little too much of whatever you happen to be taking to "enhance performance", it can end up having the opposite effect and messing you up...

I don't play poker, but I imagine that alcohol may help certain poker players to relax and read the situations and opponents that arise during the course of playing...but I'm sure once you pass a certain point, it impairs your judgment and makes you suck!

This kind of gets into one of the main things that's so seductive about using drugs in the first place, but " better living through chemistry" can be a dangerous thing to get into..It's a fine line!
