Have you guys had any interesting experiences with this part of the business?

For example, let's say you owe a middleman $40.
They hang around the actual dealer frequently, so you run into them on occasion, always promising to pay them back after picking up more.
Would you actually pay them if it meant that you couldn't get any drugs that week?

I'd like to think that I would. But then again, I wouldn't begrudge anyone who didn't pay me back if it meant they'd be sick.

Then there's the people who you give shit to because they say that they're about to pick up a ton of H or whichever drug you fancy. They say, "Dude, I'm gonna come back with loads of free shit for you RIGHT NOW!" You don't seem them for 4 days.
When they eventually come back, they conveniently forget that you ever spotted them shit.

Personally, I am of the opinion that it's best to just do money upfront for shit that you can see. Otherwise, things get messy and bitter. But it doesn't always work like that when you're desperate for something or another.

i don't lend or borrow, i'm not a bank/money lender or bum. if they start any type of begging i tell them to get the fuck out of my apartment. they always either stop or leave at that point, but if they were to persist i'd leave them within inches of death for being a bummy ass motherfucker.

i've never understood dealers who front. are you really that hurting for clients? and i've seen many dealers front over the years who didn't have the clout, manpower or weaponry to collect. idiotic.

I get fronted a fair bit and I get friend prices... But the dude's one of my best friends, so he's doing me a favor and saving himself some work. Also, I know lots of people outside his customer base. He knows I'm good for it.

I would not front strangers or friends, ever, at least not with major precautions, for a few reasons...

(1) You are both likely getting high and not remembering who bought what and for how much.

This can easily lead to disputes and fights, so if you do front, keep a record of it somewhere for each of you, like a receipt.

(2) People won't pay you back and will keep using you till you stop giving, then they start taking it by force.

This is mainly true in rough areas or with strangers, but can happen with junkie friends too. Basically they keep saying they will get you next time and in their mind you are either rich, deserving of being ripped off for some reason, or an easy victim to those with the savage prison mentality, either way what will happen is they will keep coming to you for free drugs and you'll eventually start saying no, they will persist, and they could easily rob you if they are hurting bad next time they see you, as they might think your charity was weakness. To fix this problem, only front to people you know where they live, and only front to people who have bought from you before and paid back and time, and again, keep a written document for each of you showing the debt.

(3) People who say the dope wasn't as good so they will renegotiate the price after using it.

This happens quite often, people might say it was cut or you overcharged or didn't put enough in or it was bad dope, whatever. They will now owe you $20 instead of $40.

(4) You can't really force people to pay and you either stop lending out and forget about what is owed or start a fight over it and lose friendships.

This basically is the truth. Maybe you think you are some thug life hard gangster that nobody messes with, but in reality, even if you are a feared criminal mastermind, you are dealing with people who live lives out of desperation. Anyone who needs drugs fronted is obviously an addict in poverty, and what does such a person really have to lose? Nothing. And if you confront them over it, this might make them turn on you and not only not pay you back, but take from you or mess with you in the future because of their extreme paranoia that you might hurt them. So basically never threaten junkies, never try to use violence to enforce payments, just be polite but keep reminding them every time you see them till they do pay, and eventually, they usually will, with stolen property or welfare money or other drugs, but whatever. If you just front complete strangers then expect never to see them again.

Plus fronting is bad because you might honestly make a mistake and confront someone who doesn't owe you or owes you less, and this will ruin your business relationship with them. Again, if you are going to front, simply see if the person even has a job or welfare or stolen things, and get them to pay you back in a realistic fashion (a junkie is never going to have a surplus cash amount, but they can perform a service to you that is equal to cash, like stealing something or doing chores as payment, works great with meth heads especially).

OR a much better way...

Simply sell drugs or trade them, if they have nothing of value to you, you don't sell or trade them. Period. Now if you want to help out someone who is dope sick and be a good nice person (most of us are good people we just happen to use drugs, even most dealers or users are not bad people, just stuck in addiction or experimental), then simply give them the drugs free and make it clear you don't expect (and refuse) to take anything in return. This is the best way, and really can build your reputation, just make sure they know it is a rare thing, not to expect it, or give some free drugs as a bonus to loyal customers, things like that, even giving a smoke to someone waiting for you to weigh things, or sharing a blunt with that homeless guy, who knows, he might save you when two guys jack you in that back alley he is always in if you help him just this once. Karma does exist, and if you are ever broke and in withdrawal, remember how helpless you would be, so think of others.

Its unspoken that as long as you keep going back that credit will always be there. I don't like going much over owing my dealer 100 pound at a time so every now and again I'll pay off my debt and pay for my drugs with cash so I can start again from scratch.
