Since no offical research has been conducted on how 5meo-Dipt causes you to trip , I figured I would ask my fellow bluelighters . My current theory is that foxy interacts with your brain through your melatonin receptors (which is methoxytryptamine) rather than your serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine) receptors. Could this be the reason why foxy doesnt have much 'spiritual' insight qualities , and seems to be more 'recreational' ? Please share your thoughts .......

That would make some since. I think i read somewhere that the process for creating Foxy envovles something with Melatonin..I could be wrong though.

well, considering the role of serotonin in hallucinations and the lack of any known function of melatonin relative to vision, i'd say it's unlikely that 5-MeO-DIPT is a melatonin agonist. it's quite possible that the methoxy group is cleaved to a hydroxyl group in some or most of the dose before it reaches the brain. O-demethylation is a very common metabolic step in drugs and sometimes even necessary for activation.
