This is my first time withdrawl. I have two kids and no support so I have to stick it out and do the best I can. I am being offered a fresh start for myself and my daughters and I want to get clean so bad. That being said in was taking 180mg of the jelly oxycontin and 120mg of tramadol a day. This is day 2. Yesterday wasn't so bad. I have 10 valium, 5 baclofen, neurontin, and immodium. The worst of it is the hot and cold...goosebumps and sweats. I'm incredibly weak. I have been drinking a lot more water than I usually do but the weakness and leg cramps and the hot cold crap is getting unbearable. I do have potassium chloride or klor con m20 will that help with my leg cramps? Ntm the crankiness. My kids deserve much bettwer than i am giving them. Please please offer some advice to help me get through this. I know I can but the wd is the one thing that will make me break. I don't want to give up I want to suceed but I dont know how. I also haveseizures, am I at risk for more during this time?

Hey Sillyg.Girl and welcome to BL:D

Your doing great!! Nice choices on medications for detox.

Its a rough thing to go through, but your doing it. In a couple of days you will feel much better.

Everyone has to pay the piper, but the freedom at the end is worth it. Your worth it. Your children are worth it.

Just try and remember that what your experiencing is temporary.. it only feels like it will last forever.

In a few days you will feel much better. In a few months you will feel great and you will be free from this curse.

Opiate withdrawals do not cause seizures in people who are not prone to them. Alcohol and benzo withdrawal cause seizures in people, but opiate withdrawals do not.

What dose of neurontin are you taking?

Your doing it.. keep fighting forward!!!:)

Hang in there. The fight is worth it. It felt like forever, and I never thought I would make it even one month, two months clean. I'm a little over 5 months clean now, and the world feels bright again. You can get there! Sending you positive thoughts.

As others have offered, you have meds to help with the wd but your still feeling brutal. Hot baths sound simple but are an effective temporary relief. Hold strong as the days will become easier. You can do this. For your self, your children and a future free of chains.
Getting through this will be one of the toughest battles you'll endure but you can and must continue.

everything will be alright. Don't give up

I would recommend searching for something called 'The Thomas Recipe'. It has been around and has helped many with withdrawals. There are also other good suggestions out there if you search, but Thomas Recipe is a great start. I know that hot baths helped me out a lot. Unfortunately, I didnt sleep at all for 5 or 6 days. If I could've found something to help me sleep through at least some of the withdrawals, it would have been so much better! Anyway, keep fighting!!....but be safe! There are possible dangers to trying to kick this stuff cold turkey or in a fast manner.

So I was doing fantastic....then had my typical blonde moment and was careless n ended up shooting myself in the foot BUT! I'm not going to let that stop me as soon as this thing heals up I'm jumping back on the bandwagon!

I'm curious about this Thomas Recipe the 'Dude' mentioned.
Silly.girl, if you were doing fantastic, why did you shoot yourself in the foot? As soon as this 'thing' heals up? Meaning You?

Do you have anyone there who can help you? You need to get a grip girl (and I say this with respects). This isn't going to be easy and I really encourage to reach out and get someone there with you to help you through this. You need to plan ahead, know what's coming when you try again to kick. Prepare. Find out what that Thomas Recipe's about. get in that tub, prepare. get some back up support to help with your kids and figure this out.

If you just search 'The Thomas Recipe' then you will find it. I believe it is on this site and even if you use google. I didnt know about it before trying to go cold turkey but wish I did! Btw, I gave in on my attempt. I had docs telling me I was doing it in way too dangerous manner, and said I need to ween down on my meds before trying to switch to Butrans patch. I am in the process of that.

Thank you Dude, I'll look it up. Agree with your Dr. on the weening thing. Yes, too dangerous to go all cold turkey and darn near impossible when the hurts begin. Wishing you success on what you want.

hope the o.p is doing well too.
love and light to everyone
