Can anyone suggest and fairly recent movies (1990+) that have a good storyline which involve love and sex. I'm looking for movies to watch with my girlfriend as we have watched everything.

I know the title is misleading with the whole girlfriend thing, but this movie is still cool
 
Story of O, Quills, Secretary, the Pianist (i think that's the title), Basic Instinct, Eternal Sunshine, Amilie..

I do romances and romantic comedies.. but i just can't stand the stereotype you've got mail bullshit or 2 weeks notice..
 
I say rent Secretary.

And post this in the right forum. You'll get better suggestions.

^the Story of O is a movie too? (opps, meant for DD, CC crosssed me)I can't imagine they could possibly capture in the movie what the book could.

Even though they are around 1988-89 i would recommend Sex, Lies, and Videotapes & The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover. If you don't mind subtitles Like Water for Chocolate is one of my favorite movies of all times.

However, I usually go for happy feel good romantic comedies but none of that Sleepless in Seattle/My Best Friends Wedding type stuff.

I like more Working Girl/Urban Cowboy kind of movies.
 
The People vs Larry Flint is good but it affected me so much it put me in a state of depression for about five days.

The thomas Crown Affair has a fucking awesome sex scene. PLus Renne Russo is the hot.

Actually i found Tom Robin's book turned movie "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues" to not be that great of a movie, but i think it could get someone's mind/juices flowing.. I don't think Robins can be properly captured in film, but it's a nice try...

And beanergrl--- Story of O 's movie doesn't compare to the book in the least, but it's half decent.
 
if you're looking for more a more sentimental approach, try 'four weddings and a funeral' or 'notting hill'

there's not much sex in it but if you want a wonderful movie about love, rent 'monsoon wedding'
