I, though it looks like I'm the only one here, would be happy with the inclusion of Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish. I wasn't happy with their characters when the last few seasons were aired on TV but rewatching them on DVD the new characters add something interesting and different to the end.

I personally don't think the last two seasons would have been as good if it was just another two seasons of Mulder and Scully.

I'm glad it ended at season 9 but I'm also glad that the last 2 seasons have some new characters with new problems.

You know if Gillian Anderson doesn't participate in this movie, they should at lease have Robert Patrick take her place as David Duchovny's partner!

That way they can mack on women throughout the film and be like Starsky & Hutch =D

oooooh!!!!

We Want to Believe
It's been nine years since the first ''X-Files'' movie, but Gillian Anderson's manager says that once a pending legal matter clears up, the only thing in the way of a sequel is ''the delivery of a great script''

Of course, considering how slowly legal matters tend to resolve... I'm not getting my hopes up, but yay nonetheless :D

If it happens, I'm hoping to God it isn't another "mythology / mytharc" super-episode. Then again, I never cared much for the mythology...

Oh, duh. It was the dreaded 24th post in the thread. ;)

I really hope this happens. I've been rewatching some X-Files lately and boy are they good. :D

maybe the super soldier and skullies alien hybrid baby will battle it out for world domination in th year 2012!!!!!

god thosose last seasons SUCKED

but some of the episode you KNOW the writers dosed, episodes about yage, psychedelic mushrroms which eat you while you trip in sedation, the goverment poisoning mulders water with LSD, mulders mescaline trip with the ideans where he see's his ansestors... yeah those were good times, but once mudler originaly left teh show it all went down hill.

I dont see how they can make a second movie though, mulder and skully no longer have tehre fbi powers which is what the WHOLE FUCKING SHOW ABOUT!!! Them investigating paranormal/"x" files.

my favorite character ws that black dude who used to help mulder when he put an "X" on his window for help. That dude was BAD ASS. but he died, like so many other poors kids, and you took them god, took them while they were face down in the mud of viatnam.... nah on that last aprt, but "X" was a cool ass character.

also the three wise men (wasnt taht tehre names?) are dead... hell everyone was killed off pretty much, and no more cancer man!!!!!!

Actually that character pretty much sucked. emotionless. i didn't care who he was or when he died.

they were the lone gunmen.

imo the only seasons that sucked were 8 and 9. the rest had several episodes that i enjoyed, but i absolutely adored the series. i didn't like T-1000 and Scully's flipflop to Mulder's POV during the last two, but whatev, the rest of the series more than makes up for those two seasons

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Fans of "The X-Files" no longer have to rely on Internet rumors to seek the truth about a sequel to the 1998 movie based on the popular TV series

On Wednesday, Fox announced production will start December 10 on the sequel, which reunites the show's stars, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. The studio also picked July 25 as the U.S. release date.

Series creator Chris Carter will direct the still-untitled film. Carter also co-wrote the screenplay with "X-Files" veteran Frank Spotnitz. The duo also are producing. Shooting will take place in Vancouver.

The studio is staying little about the film's story line. All that is being revealed is that it is a "supernatural thriller" and that the movie will take the complicated relationship between FBI agents Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson) in unexpected directions as Mulder continues on his quest for the truth and Scully remains inextricably tied to her partner's pursuits.

The July 25 release date would put "X-Files" up against "Step Brothers," a comedy starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, and an untitled comedy starring Ice Cube.

Fox's "X-Files" ran for nine seasons, ending in 2002. The first feature film, produced by Carter and co-written with Spotnitz, grossed $187 million worldwide.

Too little, too late, imo. I didn't really care for the first movie so I'm sure a second one,a decade later,is not going to wow me.

Sometimes I can be such a sheep and go along with friends even though I am going to waste my $15, whereas I could have at least got herpes from a hooker down the street for the same price. :X

2 stars for those who walk in with an open mind, 0 stars for those who feel that there is housework that needs doing.

I heard it isn't good, but I still want to see it. X-Files was awesome. horrible stuff with great actors, or vice-versa. love that show.

i saw this two weekends ago. absolutely slow and boring. the story line was decent, but it just seemed to drag on forever. :\

probably best, finder. i don't normally dog down on movies, but had i not been at a drive-in, i probably would've left. :\
