I LOVED this movie... absolutely, completely and utterly... there's just something special about the characters... they're perfect.

plz don't compare it to big labowski... that movie ought to be tossed in the trash, and thats when comparing it to the turd i just flushed down the toilet... i'd rather have that turd sitting in front of me than the big labowski.

i think this film really hit the mark with Gen Xers who were teens in the 80s.
back then it definatley would have stood out from the pack of teen comedys with its black humour, themes of paranoia, sexual confusion angst and general bleakness.

im 25 and saw it recently after hearing rave reviews actually found it overall abit disappointing.

i only managed to laugh out loud a couple of times.
the scenes revolving around the chicken where hilarious same with drinking the anti freeze.
i think this movies humour has dated and it left me with the impression that it tried to hard.

but yeah i can understand why some people love it cause its pretty bizarre.

It took me a few times to really get into this humor. I find it amazing that Richard E. Grant is a teatotaller because his character has the ultimate stereotypical cokehead attitude.

well, each square is the size of a CD case. so it's 4.5 CD cases wide x 3 CD cases high.

it wasn't a special edition, the poster isn't mentioned on the cover.

Withnail and I

This is a terrific dark British comedy from 1987. I recommend watching it after a few drinks. If you prefer drama check out "The House of Cards" with Ian Richardson. A superb political thriller series of diabolical nature.

Withnail and I is a cult classic, and I agree it's okay to watch after a couple of drinks... but I once had a smoke and watched it and it is SO BORING!
