Hellboy- 04/02/04 = Wtf???

Has anyone seen the previews to this movie yet???

When I saw the previews I was like .......OK, what the hell is this movie all about???

It looks like a combination of X-men meets Spawn VS Aliens in a matrix style matchup.

It still looks like a cool movie, don't get me wrong.....I would definitly go see it.
But knowing the fact that Revolution Studios has the rights to this film. I think they have an idea in their mind that this movie will be another X-men spinoff to create more money for the same idea.

What do you think???

It's based on the comic book of the same name drawn by Mike Mignola (one of my favorite comic book artists) I used to read it back in the day, pretty cool too. It was put out by Dark Horse Comics in case anyone wants to do a little searching on the net. I'm too lazy to post links

I orginally discovered Hellboy after seeing a character from Dogma (actually a boy from hell) wearing a Hellboy t-shirt, this is why I jumped to that conclusion.

hes pretty cool
he did blade 2, which was cool despite wesley snipes and the wretched dialogue
he also did a couple spanish language films, cronos and the devils backbone, which are pretty awesome as well

Sorry but I think this movie looks like the biggest piece of shit ever. A complete rip off of X-men which was not that great of a movie to begin with. Only thing that looks good about it is Selma Blair.

I am quite curious to see it, but in my opinion, when they blanket the TV with commercials for a movie it is probably crap. Since they know that people will not be advertising it by word of mouth, the only thing they can do is saturate the airwaves before it is released and hope to pique enough curiousity to generate a decent opening box office. The best (or should it be worst?) example of this was Rob Schneider's The Hot Chick. My friend and I honestly saw 15 commercials for it within 2 hours.

It may be crap for said reasons but I for one will reserve judgment until I see it for one specific reason...Guillermo del Toro. The man has directed some really well made, fun movies and I don't expect him to let me down this time. Besides the comic is just uber-cool.
