Film: Audition (Japanese)

I heard about this movie from some show on TV relating to the top 10 horror movies of all time, so I decided to pick it up. A few of my friends were interested in it as well so we got together and watched it.

Overall I enjoyed it, however the buildup to the really sick parts seemed to take forever and just seemed redundant. The end was quite disturbing . . .

So, anyone see it?

Cool movie, build up was long but was kinda cool. Just think of it as a romance movie and it is awesome

Following all the little subtle hints and playings between the characters, you realize how even MORE fucked up the movie is because he really does love her and wants to offer the world to her...it becomes even more sadistic. I own it, watch it every now and then, and still get disturbed.

Weirdly though, everyone who sees it almost always cries most about the dog, while the father aint exactly enjoyin life.

Cool movie, surprising good acting for a foreign film (the japanese seem to love overacting, so I was happy to see none of that here). I also loved the father's friend tellin him the whole movie "I dont like this girl, stay away from her. She's bad new." Moral of the story: Guys, listen to your friends when they tell you the girl IS A PSYCHO BITCH!

*I also bought this movie after watching that show...I think I have about 50 more movies to watch (god how I loved that series, although Exorcist should be #1...only movie that still creeps me out).

The first time I saw this film I was wine/xannied up so I didn't remember all of it so well; so I watched it again, and I must say it's one of my favorite horror flick (behind Evil Dead & The Shining). This movie is seriously fucked up, but in a good way IMO.

my friend and i are huge fans of horror movies and generally fucked up films. tonight he told me that i MUST see this film... so needless to say, after hearing about it from him and reading these posts, i will be picking it up shortly.

Why did I just watch this movie?

I knew ahead of time that I don't like horror movies. And I knew ahead of time that this was a horror movie. And I had heard well ahead of time that it was very disturbing.

Well, all I can come up with is that the reviews of this movie were so over-the-top that it actually made me a little curious. It is indeed a very sick movie.

I'll give it this: it's different.

Had some great moments. Really dark disturbing fucked up shit, but it started a little slow and I felt detached from the story at times. Worth a watch though.
