just curious how many of you go to festivals? if so which ones are you hittin' up this summa?

my schedule looks a lil' something like this:

strangecreek in may
discjam in june
maybe if i can get out to chitown for the fare thee well shows in july ill be at that.
peach fest maybe in august?
wormtown in september
and ending it at luna light in october.

also, what kinds of music do you guys get down to? i mostly love wonky bass music, but still can love and appericiate the jam bands out there.

always wanted to try to get out to edc las vegas; and nocturnals lineup last year was dope. i hope everything works out for ya.

Imma need to buy me a tent and save up a lot of money n droogs before I even consider going to one

What is the average size ?? 500? 2,000? 5,000? What is the biggest one in the us?
 
skorpio damn, well ill see you there! cant wait for that deputy set! last year it changed my life. hahah, im glad theyre bringing electronica back this year too with wobblesauce. the forest needs some weird bass music at night.

sirtophamhat- the ones i go to range in size to really intimate to fairly large. id never go to a massive just because i wouldnt want to be with younger kids to be honest. they kinda ruin it for the older heads. but hell yeah dude, just get yourself a tent at walmart or something and go. you dont need alot of money or drugs, people take care of eachother at these things. <3

You'll Need Atleast THE Tent AND Drugs Hahah ONE you can camp at are the best.

Edc vegas year I went was 250,000 people.
 
rapper, i dont even know how you do that. damn dude, that many people? i bet the portopotties get fucking wrecked. edc doesnt do camping right? so hows that work you gotta get a hotel or something?

i remember two years ago i went to this indoor sorta fest that was held at a hotel, called jungle boogie and just walking down the hallway was so trippy cause of the carpet and everything was identical. weirrrd man. watched some girl khole in a corner and everyone was makin' jokes about just giving her sugar. but i digress, how DOES edc work? im curious now. do you take public transit? hahah sorry for all the questions.<3 youd think a festy noob or somethang insted of a 4 year veteran, but i always see like videos and shit, looks bonkers, but i dunno, like i said thats alot of half naked people.
 
I've heard EDC is just way too big though.

It's also not the typical set-up though, because there's no camping on-site. I'm not sure what the biggest one of those is.. Bonnaroo? I dunno, the biggest festival I've ever been to was Wakarusa, which I think was like 15-25 (big range I know, but I'm just not sure). Either way, it seemed like a huge fucking city, and there was even a remote camping area that I never even went to.

Probably none this summer, there's less ones that I like that are accessible to me in Cali. High Sierra looks cool but it's like 10 hours away. I'm going to both nights of the Grateful Dead in SF, and I think I'm going to rent a small RV and take a road trip ending there.

That's my kind of music too. Not just the Dead though, most jam music--Lotus, String Cheese, Phish, etc. but also the Pretty Lights records artists--Gramatik, Michel Menert--and classic rock and blues--Rolling Stones, Creedence, The Band, Allman Brothers
 
yeah, felonous monk, id feel sketched with all those people, especially with all those younger kids that dont have the experience, or knowledge.

edit; even if it is big, im still curious on how it works if you cant camp there?

you and i also have similar taste in music. <3 i love almost every one of those people you posted.

you should definitely check out peach fest if you like the allman brothers im pretty sure theyre headlining that fest. dope lineup too.

waka is also pretty legit, never quite made it to it but it seems like a pretty cool fest, eventually ill start branching out of the east coast/ new england.

Yeah there actually pretty good with that. The one in chi town I went to was camping.
Vegas all hotel but they have shuttle or you can drive.


Feloni: it's only to big if you like tiesto lol or hang at just the main stage I got up front for all the people I wanted as they werent main stage.

When I saw zeds dead on that stage it took like 15-20 minutes to walk threw all the people and back to where it was cleared out.

There's also a ferris wheel an shit But I didn't do that.

some festivals you just have to go back to a hotel at night--there's a couple in Chicago like that, same with Ultra, Coachella too I think

what can I say, I have good taste

some of my friends are going to peach but I live 3k miles away these days so it'd be tough

waka was a lot of fun, I took a road trip myself through TN to get there and met up with some friends in Little Rock. great people out there, I never would have thought there were so many midwestern hippies, and in general they were cooler than east coast people (no offense, that's where I'm from, but I've heard way too many issues with camp bisco and DC/bmore is so ratchet lol). but there was this company that held festivals in PA that were really good people, the festivals felt like hippie carnivals, like I'd imagine small festivals were in the 70s, totally open, but people brought their whole families and it was really a community event
 
hahah bisco. sucks because older bisco was pretty alright, but then people just got carried away with it. it also didnt help that the fest that replaced bisco last year(the hudson project) was a class a shit show. ive never seen a more poorly run fest, kicking people out because it rained then setting up checkpoints and arresting the poor people they just kicked out. ive never been more dissapointed with a festy. but thats irrelevent.

yeah, the ones your talking about in pa sound like the ones they hold at kewanee; strangecreek and wormtown. really small and intimate.

rapper- i have to admit, i may be a lil jealous cause you got to see zeds dead and they're kind of one of my favorites. but damn, a 15-20 minute walk? thats a long ways. were your legs beat by the end of the day?

also have seen zeds d at my home town twice both pretty intimate and they were dope!
 
you lucky bastard. hahaha, ive seen them once but had such a terrible time because i dosed too high, and saw some real shady shit go down at the venue i was at, so bad news bears on that one.

how are the people at massives like that? i can only compare to bisco 9 but even that isnt that big. the fests around here are so intimate most of the time you know everyone cause its the same people that have been gettin' down for the past 5 or 6 years.
 
I'm a festival junkie for sure, they're more addictive than heroin cause they're better.

This year I get to play at a few smaller festivals, not gonna disclose which just yet, but the ones I'm going to attend this summer are: Lightning In a Bottle, Yellow Stargate, hopefully Burning Man, I have a ticket someone's holding for me until I get money to pay them for it along with all the expenses it's gonna take, and Electric Forest.

Also hit up local tribe festivals every 2-3 weeks.
 
Electric forest is pretty far away from you, nah? That's gonna be a fun trip pun intended.

I've heard good things about fests in the Midwest anyway
