Not on a train, sadly.
I have lots, but here are a few off the top of my head (mostly from myth / folktales)...

Male
Jamshyd [pronounced: jahm - sheed] (Iranian) - I love this one so much, I actually use it as a middle name!
Balthazar (Probably Canaanite)
Melkarth (Phoenician)
Hidad (Phoenician)
Demitri/Demitrius (ancient Greek/Latin)

Female
Persephone [purse - e - phoney =D] (ancient Greek)
Jilnaar (Iranian)
Magdalena (Hebrew)
Miranda (Latin)
Judith (Hebrew)

(I think the last two aren't very uncommon, but oh well ;)).

So share yours!

I think the best name ever is Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus.. shame its only good as a full name, or just the shorthand version of Marcus Aurelius

So glad this thread wasn't about baby names and suggestions for a name that'll make a fashion statement

I LOVE the name Kadence for a girl, it was going to be my daughters name but we decided against that, so she has an uncommon spelling, and its Lilyin.

I want to name my future boy if I have one Kaden Taustin, Kaden is because its a spin off kadence, and I love the name :) And Taustin is the name of a good friend of mine that passed away. I did also want to name a boy Atreyu, but that name isnt so cool to me anymore. I've also always loved the name Judaiah for a boy too.

I like different names :)

I love pre-Hispanic Filipino ones. They usually have very simple meanings. These are my favorite names of some people I know:

Female

Amihan (north monsoon)
Malaya (free)
Liwayway (dawn)
Diwata (goddess/elemental)
Maya (sparrow)

Male

Araw (moon)
Alon (wave)
Kawayan (bamboo)
Kidlat (thunder)

^A name will only ruin your childhood if you study with ignorant bastards

It is uncommon but definitely not laughable for people to have nature-based names here. When I was little they were sort of mini-celebrities in our school. We wanted cool parents also :)

That's my kitty's name. Well, close anyway. Her's is spelled Azrael. I named her after Garagamel's cat from the Smurfs. It also means "angel of death." I've gotten some pretty WTF looks from people that know about the angel of death thing and that don't know where her name really came from.

thats what i meant, i just made a typo, thanks for catching it :)

for some reason, i like names that have a z in them.

^ Interesting. I think in Hebrew it's traditionally spelled Azriel but obviously Azrael is also proper. I just wouldn't want to be named after the Angel of Death, personally.

Amaris
