Well well of course my fave is "THE GODFATHER" although some of my friends said that SCARFACE will be a good contender as well. What are your guys thoughts

The Godfather is my all-time favourite movie.

Goodfellas is up there too.

Goodfellas or The Departed

I've seen each at least 10 tens, own them both. They're my two most watched movies. It does help that Goodfellas seems to be on TV at least once a week. Every time I see either one I'm still blown away by the different shots, the editing, the music and how it makes the scene flow so much better, the great stories being told (that were true or based on similar events), and the brilliant acting by each cast. There's so much to them and so much to what makes them good movies.

Sometimes I wish I could Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind myself so that I could watch them for the very first time again.

Miller's Crossing

Should be a poll here. How many mob movies can there be?

But I think Boardwalk Empire will give birth to more subtle organized crime movies.

I got a book about a month ago entitled something like The 100 Best Mob Movies. There are movies that didn't make the top 100 cut, so I'm assuming there's quite a lot.

I'll post the order sometime. Godfather was number 1 and Goodfellas was either 2 or 3.

besides whats up here already

Once Upon A Time In America
Casino

OC? Edit: Ooh, organized crime I'm guessing?

BTW the book was the 100 Greatest Gangster Movies, not mob movies, although there isn't much of a difference.

Never saw Once Upon A Time in America though it's highly rated. Casino was good, but didn't like it nearly as much as Goodfellas or The Departed. Just isn't a movie I'd rewatch over and over again. Sharon Stone's character in the movie was really annoying. I didn't have a problem with her acting performance, but her character was such a bitch that it effects it's rewatchability (is that even a word?). Actually have never seen the second or third Godfather movies either and only saw the first one once. Definitely have to check those out and give the first one another watch.

Another good mob movie not mentioned is A Bronx Tale.

Yeah Casino!!! Joe Pesci was awesome in that movie lolls

Little Odessa starring Tim Roth was brilliant assuming Russian mob counts?

Goodfellas is head and shoulders above all of them, in my opinion :) It's not really a 'mob' film but Lawless is excellent, sort of organised crime but taken back to Prohibition America, the moonshine scene. Don't understand the bad reviews it got, one of my all time favourite films even now.

Need to get around to watching Boardwalk Empire.

I haven't seen boardwalk empire for a while I better get on it too! Steve Buscelli "Nucky Thompson" is the man man man!!!

The Godfather I & II of course

Besides that I only seen one mention above for Miller's Crossing, that whole fucking movie is great and all the dialogue is quick witted in an awesome 20's vintage way, I had to watch it a few times to actually catch the whole story

Road To Perdition was also pretty good, especially because of Paul Newman
