I think I can't post links but the annotated grateful dead lyrics by david dodd are great for this. And I'm with you, my reply contained four lines from grateful dead songs before I decided I should edit it down :) It may seem a bit dramatic, but music, particularly the Grateful Dead and Robert Hunter's beautiful words have saved my life more times than I care to remember.

Also, whoever quoted modest mouse back there on the last page kudos.

One more:

Love this one! I rarely listen to Johnny Cash, you inspired me to revisit his stuff a bit.
