Favorite Musicals

Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl
With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there
She would merengue and do the cha-cha
And while she tried to be a star, Tony always tended bar

But in reality it'd probably be 42nd Street

Your all time favourite "musical" film

i was MADLY in love with musical films when younger (hoping to find likeminded die hards), and have recently been taking a stroll down memory lane with those that have REALLY left an impression on me. aside from the classics ive revisited such as Fame, Footloose, Starstruck (aussie), Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Grease (broadway shows aside); id have to say "A Chorus Line" is the clear winner in my book. the "one" finale is one that has stuck with me in adulthood and still envokes goosebumps.

how about YOU?

can this thread please be unmerged? my reference was to musical based films, not broadway shows :D cheers

and in saying that id love to also add "the wiz" and "song of the south" to my list.
