As a sort of follow up to the Fave Books as a Child thread i thought i'd start one on all our favourite toys.

i was hella into My Little Ponies. i've even bought one now cos they've been re-released (yaay =D ).
and i loved Barbies too. any other doll i would tear to shreds or draw on.

plus i was a tomboy and loved remote controlled cars and dinkies. yaay!

so what did everyone else love? and any games u might have played too.

Ahahah how strange syntech I was exactly the same (cept I didnt scribble on other toys, just didnt play with them)

Apart from barbie, My little Pony and remote control cars i loved Lego =D
Games, hmmm I played Barbie. Aha dress ups - OH i loved dress ups at preschool. I would always get the gold high heels, and the beaded bag, and the shiny dress and everyone would think I was the queen (well, it was make beleive). And I'd also have a 'baby' once in a while .
Hmmm, make believe was fun!

oh fuck yeh how can i forget lego???
i was a HUGE fan

and i'd play role playing games with friends and i was always the shape changing cat!

my parents were too poor to buy toys, so dad ripped a couple of holes in my front pants pockets ;-) but the objects of lust were bb-guns

I was obsessed with Barbie but I also loved board games like Hungry Hippo and Mouse Trap ^_^

hmm, let me see....they're all still in boxes under my bed!

i had voltron, mask, lots of matchbox cars, lego....lego these days is damn expensive though, i was lucky enough to inherit most of mine....for enough lego to build anything useful you'd need to spend hundreds of dollars

i also have a lot of components of an HO scale train set which i always had the intention of building up seriously when i got a little older. I'm still keen, i just need a place of my own with a big room and then i'll set it up malcolm style :)

My favourite things when i was very young was the dress-up clothes my mother and grand mother made for me- they were mostly princess costumes and i loved them and wore them everywhere (even while my mother did the grocery shopping!)

When i was a little older i fell in love with cabbage patch dolls- but only for a year (so dont hate me). When my friends and i decided we were too old for them we created horrible ways to 'kill' them- burning them until they melted- throwing them against the corner of buildings etc...

ahhh kids- i hope there is no such theing as karma!!!

Thundercats, Moondreamers, Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, My Child & Action Man - the old one who came with metal boots so you could sink him to the bottom of the bath :)

LEGO, my little pony, that family of little animals ummm something S******* Family?, Tedy Ruskpin (sp?), punky brewster. Then as I got older I became a toyboy and played with G.I joes etc etc.

Ahhhh I miss being a kid

Lego! My god did this occupy me for hours on end. Just a massive box full of the stuff.

Lego is something I hold in the highest regard, I have no doubt it promotes growth in all sorts of creative areas for a kid.
I inherited a massive amount and also bought loads of it too. I was a lego hussy. A lego slut.

GI Joe was another big one of mine...had quite the collection of vehicles and men for that one.

MASK <-- same deal as GI Joe but these guys had transformable vehicles (a motorbike would transform into a helicopter etc etc)

Transformers. No explanations needed.

My BMX Bike. Used to race around courses in the bush on this with a bunch of friends for hours.

Mmm Toys :D

I had a bit of a Barbie obsession going on... I had Day n' Night Barbie, Malibu Barbie, Barbie and the Rockers (all of them), and heaps more. I also had a Gem doll, from Gem and the Holograms!

I also loved my Strawberry Shortcake big wheel bike. It had 2 smaller wheels in the back and one huge wheel in the front.. very popular back in the day. My cabbage patch doll was also a favorite.

Now that I think about it I didn't really have all that many toys growing up compared to my sisters and brother. I started getting art stuff like paints, colour pencils, etc and learning how to do arty things from my mom. I enjoyed that kind of thing most of all.

:)

agreed, i think lego is one of the best sorts of toys for a kid...

i was pretty obsessed with it, i had (and still do) shitloads of it! if i ever get round to having that spare time i've been planning on for a while now, i'm gonna dig it all out for fun. also used to love my tmnt action figures, playdoh, and videogames (had the atari 2600, commodore 64, nes, super nes, n64...). i guess that's about all.

Yeah Legos are pretty good for kids, they helped a lot with kid's creative skills, and used their imagations.
