Conspiracies Facebook outage after whistleblower interview

Luckily there are enlightened and unaffected souls on BL that can warn us of the AI dangers.

Funny considering timelines aren't even generated by an all knowing AI. Rather by algorithms possibly aided by some data processed by AI.

The article you linked means nothing, it was just trained on data that contained those words. Doesn't mean the "AI" thinks for itself. I'm confused you somehow think it is related to your earlier comments but whatever.

You've just completely missappropriated what he said there.

- He never said the AI took itself offline, I'm assuming that was not actually what you thought he said...?
- He mentioned the twitter bot which praised hitler, and asked if you knew how it worked, as a retort.

I feel like someones just been framed for thinking hes John Connor.

I know how AI works, vaguely. Same as probably most of us here. And to my knowledge, none of us know what the facebook AI is capable of; and you made a list of pretty benign stuff there. Yes, it is trained. By facebook humans, who have a shady history of misusing these tools. I guess thats the problem with AI, whether conscious, or not.

He did say that? I took it seriously, for reasons. Maybe I shouldn't have but it's better to clarify. I also don't see how my comment was so offensive.

There is no such thing as thé FB AI. They have a collection of applications that can only do very specific things. There is no conscious AI and it's not even close, people speculate that it would in theory be possible with the current NN architectures but nobody really has any idea how to get there. If it would be, then we'd have solved many simpler problems through reinforcement learning already, but we haven't.

I just don't like this blaming of AI for things, it's pointless fearmongering. It's FB itself that is terrible.
 
Fb has been pushing propaganda to change regulations for better than a year. The minute I saw this I knew it was phase two of the campaign. They are working with the establishment to get what they all want, more censorship. Further proof I was right when I pointed out the newly accepted heavy hand of censorship when the identity politics campaign first kicked off after occupy Wall Street, on this very website. Luckily even some leftists can see the subversive tactics of this, though most liberals are completely out to lunch with it. People believing this is some genuine whistle blower reminds me of that quote from the bush 1 CIA director talking about how their job isn’t done until everything the general public believes is false.

This is so retarded. Of course she brings up a couple of particularly sensitive issues as well, what an insult to peoples intelligence.

Describing her work, Ms Haugen said: “A key part of [Chinese operatives’] strategy was to send malware to Uighurs who lived in places that weren’t China, as if they could compromise one phone they could compromise a whole community. We said we won’t be able to see the malware anymore [with encryption].”

Man, this makes no sense 🙄 🙄 let's remove encryption such that we can read everything and spot when malware is sent LOL all while casually taking away all protection from FB and government reading everything.

I'll assume that by now everyone knows she's a government asset, this is almost beyond parody.
