Can someone shed some light on sealed Fent patches that expired in 2008/2009 but have been stored in a cool dry place?

There's two brands, Duragesic & Ran, and range from 25mcg to 100mcg. As far as I know, they are all gel based patches.

Will the passage of time have altered the patches into something dangerous?

Thanks

hmmmm, idk.

on one hand if stored in a dry, consistent temperature cupboard, it seems like it would be fine.

if it's the gel, the drug is suspended in the matrix....

the only thing i can think of is the matrix might degrade, cause there is always a bubble of air in those patches when sealed to get the medicine to move around and not stay in one spot.

smarter people than i need to respond...

I know that pills will last well beyond their expiration date. But in regards to fentanyl gel, I think that the chances of it degrading are probably a bit higher than with pills. It has only been a year or so since you claim they expired, so personally I would try the gel and see how it works. Your only concern would be that it has lost potency. I seriously doubt that it would be effected to the point of changing into something harmful. If you are experienced with fent, and know what you are doing, why not just smoke a small small blob off of some foil, and see how well it works?

If they are sealed, you are fine. Like the above poster said, vape a small amount on some foil or in a glass pipe (like you would with methamphetamine). That ought ta learn ya!
BTW when did they expire?

They are very dangerous, send them to me and I will dispose of them properly.

Just kidding, they are fine. But you can still send them to me if you want.

I wouldnt be concerned, they will still work, just maybe not quite as well as if they were new.

^ same
I think expiration dates are more of like : desired effectiveness date
I wouldn't worry, if anything they might not be as good as a non-expired one but stuff like that lasts a long time.
