Example High Veg Low Carb Lean Bulking Diet

Apologies if I missed it, but his starting height/weight? What would you guess his starting caloric equilibrium to be? 3500?

5'9, around 105kg. He was eating unplanned - but an average of between 2800-3200 cals.

the thing that stands out is relative to the other macros fibre seems a bit lacking

Fibre lacking? Not for a bodybuilder. I couldn't get him to eat any more fruit or veg if I tried; he already complains about the sheer volume of veg and number of visits to the bathroom. He stopped with the supplemental psyllium husks in order to try and lower fibre a little.

To overcome the tendency towards homeostasis. I've outlined the general reasoning before in >>this<< thread.

I have been a member of a couple of BB boards since 2002 and tapers were always considered old fashioned. Not seen anyone recommend tapering test.
Exogenous test will suppress endogenous at at of those doses so don't see the difference in it's going straight to 300mg ew.
the nature id the cyp / etc ester releasing it will produce a gradual rise in blood concentration anyway

Indeed they were and are. That doesn't diminish the logic in tapering up doses from just above physiological levels.

This causes a more pronounced, prolonged and continuous rise in serum levels than simply relying on a natural accumulation (which reaches steady-state levels after about 3 weeks anyway). You end up benefitting from both effects.

Endogenous test is nowhere near 300mg/wk. As you can see, he has been doing very well on low doses. As do I, and lots of other people who actually try them. Give it a go.

Most people frequenting BB boards don't generally understand principles of pharmacokinetics/dynamics..

you're right, on second look there is a lot of hidden fibre represented and a good mix of soluble and insoluble fibre. i tend to mentally subtract fibre from carb totals but it looks like they are included here. as a non-BBer i also appreciate the nutrition and balance represented in this diet, just in smaller amounts and with slightly more emphasis on fibre, often in the form of seeds (hemp, chia, flax) or nuts, but then i would be satiated by the sample lunch even without the avocado, which by itself adds a considerable dose of fat and fibre.

Yeah he's getting a little over 50g fibre in the basic diet, and with a few extra apples and nut portion snacks probably takes in about 60-65g on most days. We had him on a high(er) carb bulking diet last year and were hitting well over 100g fibre (not including psyllium husks in shakes), but a lot of that was from lentils and carb-staple sources like rice and potatoes rather than fruit or veg.

Do you grind your seeds, or just swallow them as is?

i soak them overnight then mix it into a smoothie in the mornings, apple flesh has a good amount of soluble fibre so throwing that into the mix makes it all a little less bowel rapey than taking seeds raw (iirc they also add inulin to metamucil for same reason)
